My Thoughts On "Self-Love"

Self-love, to me, is to love yourself and recognize your value as a human being. But, also recognize that we all are works-in-progress. None of us alive today, nor those who have ever been alive are perfect except for One, who was crucified.

It’s so interesting to me that the second girl, is actually talking about the true mesage of the bible that everyone is loved, (unconditionally by god) and that we should practice love for our neighbours and also those who harm us. But she doen’t know it I think…

At the Hallmark museum in Kansas City Missouri, Hallmark admits to inventing Valentine's Day. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that Valentine's Day only exists thanks to Hallmark. It was a dead season where they needed to make money. Either accept that capitalism will invent things and people just accept them or don't that's on you.
I don't like Valentine's Day because I don't like fake things, killing flowers, adding another stuffy to my already large collection... I don't want my significant other or husband to give me gifts on Valentine's Day because society says he has to. I'd much rather he pick a random day throughout the year that no body is a celebr ating to celebrate us because that means 100 times more than society says I should do it. And that is why Valentine's Day is fake.

I'm so glad you do this. Before a few weeks ago I thought I was the only one rolling my eyes at the self love and the internet. I turned off my socials durring the pandemic.
People are too lazy to self motivate
People want to becomfortable being lazy and not doing growth.

I agree with the point you’re trying to make here. However, there were some points that I don’t know if you truly understand or not. I know you have had hard things happen in your life, I also know that action is a key ingredient to learn how to love yourself.

Here’s a little bit of my story; I matured young, and I hated my body. I was constantly told that I was too loud, and that everything was my fault. So I learned to hate myself.

I’m learning that I do have worth, and it doesn’t matter what others think of me, but what I think of myself, and what God thinks of me. So I do believe that self love is important.

Being narcissistic isn’t self loving to me. That is almost self worship. It’s very unhealthy.

Anyhow, I also love crystals! They are a beautiful gift from God. And your right, it’s not good enough to just carry them with you. Action is required for true change.

I understand what it’s like to be in a poor mental state, but the difference is that I see so many people in my generation (Gen Z) say “I’m really tired and depressed” and then when they tell me their mental habits they say things like “I eat junk food, don’t shower, never go outside, and watch tiktoks until 3AM” that’s where you lose my sympathy. It’s obvious that those habits you’re indulging in are not healthy and if you want to truly get better the only thing you can do is change your bad habits.

Self-love is learning to love and appreciate yourself for who you are and embrace your body’s unique qualities, not to be egotistical, ignore bad habits, and be above improvement.

As someone who lived in communism for 20 years: there is nothing, NOTHING, more "every man for himself" than communism.

Wait... so this "Divini_Dee" lady (heart eyebrows) is criticizing Valentine's Day for being a "Capitalism fun day" and how the feelings of loneliness it brings up is what "Capitalism preys on", and yet she's putting a pound of makeup and plastic crystals on her face that she (presumably) bought... supporting the capitalist system... I mean, was it supposed to be an ironic kind of thing? Like, using the video to make her point? I could kind of see that, but... Really?

It is sounding like. There are trying to move in to social engineering. Yes Miss Cooper. Depressed people feel that they do not deserve love. Their self-image is distorted. It's hard work on yourself to get yourself back on your feet. I know this because I am a former at-risk youth. Who walked this way. You need a reasonable goal to strive for. For example, being a photographer in a corner photo shop. Work every day from 9 am to 5 pm. Discipline to fight for that dream.

Spread the word about God

Taking the politics out of it for a second, most of these videos were reasonable and valid. As for the mental health of our youth, yes it’s a bigger conversation. I’m a 40 yr old woman who didn’t have to deal with half of what our teens and young adults do these days. They’re confused, being pulled in all directions and made to feel like being themselves isn’t enough. So yes Brett, we need to be promoting self acceptance actively, not just assuming it’s common sense.

Self care also includes self discipline!!!! Without that, you’re just enabling yourself with your unhealthy habits, whatever it may be. It’s a delusion.

I love Valentines day and I don't have someone to share it with. I just think the day is real sweet and cute. Don't get bogged down by it just because you are single. I really love getting myself some chocolates. It's a fun day.

I hate the promotion of self-love. I'm not saying that we should hate ourselves, but we already love ourselves naturally. It isn't something we need to "learn." Promoting it just encourages narcissism. There is a reason the Bible says to "love your neighbor as yourself," and not "love yourself as your neighbor."
