My car was starting but my push button to turn it off wouldn’t turn off. I had to keep pushing the button to turn off my motor then it started acting up a few days later when I went to start it, so I just parked it some people think it’s my alternator. I think it’s the starter. What do you think?

The alternator failure that you mentioned is confirmation that my alternator is bad. Great! Thanks!!!!

Couple other reasons could be ignition switch, bad relays, blown fuses, key fob battery, worn key itself, and if you have a late model vehicle, theft deterrent system or immobilized malfunction. You might just get one click when you try to start it but no start.

My battery is fully charged after i replaced a pulley serpinetine belt battery starter n alternator n it sparked when i put the battery cables back on n it sparked and im getting nothing now like the battery is fully discharged but the battery is good n fully charged

Jus got a new alternator and belt still made a like eeeeeeeee reeee reee reee reee noise like the belts or sumthing spinning when we drove it then the acceleration jus went out only accelerated in park

Car doesn't make a turn of noise, nothing happens but the battery has enough volts to start.

My 16’ chevy Cruze had some electrical problems some of the fuses under the hood don’t have power to them.. i tested them. Some light up when contacted and some don’t. I replaced all the mini fuses and still not getting power when checked.. 2 of the turn signals, brake light, horn, power outlets don’t work and engine worn turn on. No crank at all. Also windows won’t roll down from front driver side and passenger, but the rear windows work only on their doors. Won’t work from the master control. But dash lights up and front lights work. Any suggestive leads to take?

Could a bad camshaft position sensor be the reason why my car won't start? I got a jump start but my car didn't start and the guy who helped me out told me that the reason why it won't start is cuz it doesn't have fuel but actually it has half a tank. And the only code that seems to pop up is p0340.

This just happened:two hrs ago Went to turn it on. there was a semi crank and then the next several attempts produced nothing, no sound.--- radio, lights, power windows work so it can't be the battery right. about an hour later someone showed up to help me==went to start it and it cranked right up. Drove it home seven miles turned it off then tested it twice and cranked up no issue = afraid it's going happen again and I'll be stranded - any ideas? It runs beautifully btw, it's a very reliable 3rd gen toyota 4runner

I had the 3rd sound but just not as many “ruut ruut’s” (1 or 2) and they were weak “ruut ruuts” but it would start after a couple minutes if I stopped trying to turn it n gave it some time so I changed the starter thinking it sounded weak 🤦🏽‍♂️ then I changed the battery , now I’m wondering if it the starter was even bad 🤦🏽‍♂️
