2007 crf250r rebuild 01 - The Beginning

This is the beginning of the 2007 crf250r re-build. Got this as a project bike to learn more about my own bike (2013 crf450r) and just bikes in general. I was a poor buyer in that I had no idea what to look for and well, I'm just calling this tuition because I definitely over paid for the bike in the condition it is in. So far it needs an engine rebuild (with case welding to fix cracks from engine blowing up), needs new steering column bearings (feels crusty and stiff in a few degrees of the turn), the back wheel has a flat spot (I would have put new rims on anyway...but still).. I just was so excited to get a project bike and hadn't seen one this cheap in over 6 months of looking on Craigslist, that I just pulled the trigger. But experience is a great teacher and now I know more about what to look for. and I will NEVER again buy an out of state registered bike - this one wasn't even registered to the guy I bought it from (though I did contact the actual owner) and I was able to register it in my name after a lot of hoops.
