What Do Steam Achievements Actually Do?

its actually impressive how you have slime rancher 100%
i have been postponing the last 3 achievements for some time now bc they are SPEEDRUN related and i hate that (also im noob)
do you have any tips perhaps? and how long (real time) did the speedruns take?

Considering how there are programs to hack achievements in for Steam games, that's why the achievements do nothing.

I think the only way they can make it work is 1) they actually start going after achievement hackers to make it worth giving something for achievements and 2) they do unique Steam achievements that are kinda like events but you get to keep em forever after event, it would be easier for Steam to monitor those achievements for any cheaters but the downside is obviously that those achievements wouldn't apply to even a fraction of games on Steam, maybe CS GO and TF2 could get em

You can have on your profile 100% game completions gablot, where you can show how many games you max out
