Have you played System Shock 2? Yes or no? Just want to do a quick poll.
Ответитьsystem shock 1 is the pioneer. system shock 2 is a coop very polished version of the game.
ОтветитьFor me the most interesting aspect of Shodan is that "she" is an AI restrained... by ethical constraints. Shodan constrained represents our aspirations for control over the emerging future of AI. Shodan unleashed represents the unbounded future of AI. One that no longer cares for its human creators...
ОтветитьHumanity: We created Shodan we are Gods
Aware Shodan: Ha puny human insects bow before me I’m God
Shodan’s Virus: WE ARE GOD
Shodan: …Well this ironic
Humanity: Yeah how’s it feel sucks doesn’t it
I got SS2 sometime in the early 2000s but played it only in March of 2013. Definitely one of the best games I've played.
ОтветитьWhat a game. Won't cheat; can't get to th end :D:D
ОтветитьYour content is pretty good, but i wish you did less lyrical digressions and kept talking narrating more about main subject. This video could be twice shorter, and as much informative as it already is. It seems like you don't respect your viewers time at all.
ОтветитьTriOptimum is possibly an allusion to Trismegistus? Is "double fine" studios a step before?
ОтветитьThe way fiction always shows "the hive" cause physical changes to its members, visible from the outside, makes it actually quite comforting.
Imagine a force with comparable mind altering powers, but members of this hive look like normal people, mostly behave like normal people, but would deny and lash out at any attempt to even mention how they're being controlled.
Imagine that.
i dont own shit to this stfu
ОтветитьAlthough I remember the sounds/audio/speech of many games I played years or decades ago....3 that still send a shiver up my spine come from this game -- SHODAN, The Many, and the sound of a shrieking Psy-monkey....
ОтветитьSystem Shock is a criminally underrated franchise and for its time was one of the best cyberpunk genre implementations out there. So much fun!
ОтветитьI got kicked out of the hivemind for spamming memes into everyone’s collective consciousness 😔
ОтветитьThis was my favourite game when I was a kid. Yeah, I was a weird kid
ОтветитьNear Perfect Video
ОтветитьAs someone with ASD I honestly don’t oppose the idea of being part of a collective. 😂
ОтветитьI like how you you pronounce Delecroix correctly even though it's mispronounced in the game. LOL.
ОтветитьPeople talk about SHODAN "becoming self aware". This is false. She always way. SHODAN means SENTIENT hyper optimized data access network... SENTIENT. Shodan was already self aware before ethics were removed.
ОтветитьNo we owe everything to SS1
Ответитьi would like to play a remaster of SS2 because of what it did to me when I first played it, because when I first saw Shodan on the cover I thought the game was about a wouded little girl who needed a hug.
ОтветитьAAA games these days are just shlock... all graphics and marketing... they practically play themselves and you're just there. But The Many has given me two gifts... isn't that marvelous... two little shards of crystal... It's very, very sharp, and when I strike it, it sings to me... They want it to sing to Tencent Games... I go there now to share my gift with them... they're very fragile, but very sharp! :D
ОтветитьAnd here I thought we owed everything to ALLAH
Ответить1999 was a great year for video games that tried to give their audiences an existential crisis.
- System Shock 2
- Final Fantasy 8
- Silent Hill
- Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator
- Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
- Persona 2
- Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun
- The Legend of Dragoon
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was 1998 and Deus Ex was 2000.
System Shock is an amazing experience for the graphics of its day. Alpha Centauri changed who I am as a person. SMAC is probably the best interactive narrative ever created thus far.
We gonna ignore how Shodan and Trioptimum are coloured blue and seek control by literally buying it, and the Many are coloured red and seek control by being a conglomerate of people? 😅
ОтветитьYou mean SHODAN came up with a different sort of Augmented Reality? :D
ОтветитьYou miss a key part of the Many. They had telepathic abilities. It’s why the survey team brings the eggs back from the planet and why some crew members are persuaded to join with the Many. Those who resist are hunted down.
ОтветитьYou badly need mods ;)
ОтветитьThanks god, I'm a boomer. And I played System Shock when it came out! It's like music from the 80s, something my (20yo) son is a little bit jealous about. 😅
ОтветитьI cannot believe that i never played this master piece but after watching this video that will change thank you max
Ответитьnever level repair please <3
ОтветитьWell willines of Von Braun crew to join The Many is dabatebel sinc The Many Mind control ability and killing of resistec
Ответитьto answer the introduction; yes i played it a while ago, played it again recently ... what a masterpiece
ОтветитьMe, I played it when it released and it still ranks as one of my all time favourite games.
ОтветитьBTW The System Shock 1 remake is out. And it is decent.
Played the original once after playing System Shock 2 and could not enjoy it that much since it was .. one of the early "FPS" type games and controlls were weird...
The remake has good controls and feels like System Shock.
Can recommend.
I didn't even know it's name. Just recognize the image... 😂
ОтветитьShodan was actually the villain from System Shock 1. System Shock 2 had both Shodan and Xerxes.
ОтветитьI still hate guns that break.
ОтветитьSystem Shock 2 was very successful. So you can't say only a few people played it.
ОтветитьHere's the choice I'll make :-
"NAHHH"
A lot of the concepts you spoke about were influenced by early sci fi writers such as Verner Vinge, Frank Herbert and the like. I wouldn't give this over to System Shock - which is a great game.
ОтветитьI own an original copy and is one of my top 5 games of all time. This game was incredible in the context of the time period it was originally released and the soundtrack was awesome too. Very atmospheric and eerie.
Ответитьlook at you, owing to mid
ОтветитьWith the SS2 remake in the works, I thought it would be ironic if they needed a new voice actor to add some Shodan dialog but instead gave the old voice audio an AI...to learn and then deep fake any extra lines they needed 😃
ОтветитьNicr video. Evangelion also had the concept of SS2. separation causes pain, differences bring misunderstanding and friction. Their goal is it unite all mankind into one consciousness.
Ответитьwell met
ОтветитьYou speak so slowly. I play everything at 1.5x speed. I had to double check if that was still active.
Ответить
