Reviewing A Hyper Naked In Traffic

Excellent review. It’s a massive amount of money. I’m in the market for new bike come December this year. I don’t like v2 engines much, but goddamn after riding a ktm sdr its changed that. I’m torn between the SDR EVO gen 4 and the Sfv4. V4 engines intrigue me, but, for 5.5k less I can get the duke 🤔 (€28900 for the Sfv4 in Ireland 30200for the s version- SDRevo 1390 is 25k) . I plan on carrying pillion every other weekend and maybe once a year doing a long trip (Ireland to Alicante). Fuel economy isn’t great on either bike but the duke certainly is better. That doesn’t really bother me as Europe has fantastic petrol (gas for those of you in the US) station network. So hard to choose between the two. Heart says Ducati, head says KTM. The extra €€€ saved would pay for a lot of fuel, a service or two, new tires, a givi box, insurance and tax for the year! 🤔
To add; I don’t plan on doing track days given the price of both, but, wouldn’t discount it totally. The speed limit in Ireland 🇮🇪 is 120kmph so either bike is fine 😅 I suppose legally the duke is more fun from lights to lights - it’ll give you that arm ripping out of your sockets type feel and beat 99% of anything on the road from 0-100kmph (0 -60mph) so realistically that’s all that matters. The Ducati will absolutely be better at theoretical speeds far above what’s legal but in reality how often is that going to happen, bar, a motorway and probably only for a kilometre or two before you’d have to slow down for fear of police/speed cameras/ road conditions not being optimised for a missile 😂

i was thinking to swap to the streetfighter v4s from my KTM 890. I should rethink that

Move your clutch lever further away and you will no longer have the problem with finding neutral

I'm curious, what was the temp outside in this vid? 99% of reviews say the V4 engine runs hot, and I live down south so those engines don't like traffic down here.
Honestly I'm probably going to get the new 1390 Duke over the streetfighter, the price difference (and maintenance costs) is so much better

Fuel mileage on new bikes is garbage until after it breaks-in. That being said, my S1000R gets around 100-120 to a tank depending on my rides so it tracks haha.

I just upgraded from a 23’ ninja 400 to my now new 23’ mt09 sp and I can only imagine the power that this bike has compared to mine. I’ve only had it in the lowest and second lowest power modes with no thoughts of going higher for a bit. I’d love to ride one of these one day though just to have that experience. Hope to see the duke back soon!!!!!!

Most of the new V4 have rear cylinder deactivation when at stops. Which REALLY helps with the heat.
