What are the BEST 200TW Tires?

Guys, don''t you think reviews like this should have some pavement analysis? Wouldn't the results of tests like this depend a lot on the pavement type?

Dang, these are all about 30% more expensive than they were in 2021… Hundreds of dollars more expensive per set of 4 in some cases. Not good for the casual track day guy 😑

I've run BFG Rival-S, CRS, and now RT660's. BFG Rival-S is much better despite the fluff article from GRM. Always a Falken add in there.

this was great! I didn't realize the RS-4 was fast, as the wear is really long on these. The BFG better than the Falken that's a wow too. You should have said more about that E36 tho!

On my 911 I run Michelin Pilot Sport 4S as a daily and Yokohama Advan A052 on the track. Very very happy with both after testing countless tire brands.

I was advised to try the Accelera 651 Sport tyres. Any opinions on these? My little Clio 172 takes 195/50/R15, so performance orientated choices are limited. A friend advised me to try the Accelera, as he uses them on his daily driver and he seems very happy price/performance wise.

hi Jonathan, newly subscribed to your awesome videos, for the weekend track warrior, based on a common semi slick tire, lets say falken azenis RT660 17", in your opinion, for a 230hp rwd, is 245mm better or 225 tire width is sufficient to handle/provide the grip? any general rule of thumb for hp vs tire width? thank you so much in advance.

As always Jonathan you are producing the best tyre reviews on the internet. I am curious if you know the hot tire pressures and temperatures after the two 8 lap sessions. I assume starting pressures cold were the same. My track experience is with the Goodyear SuperCar 3 and the Falken 660. The Falkens perform exactly as you describe. Reliable lap after lap with huge grip during braking.. In 90 degree weather they tend to pick up every loose piece of track rubber. The Goodyear, to me is overall a better tire. Thanks again. James

Have you ever tried Zestino tyres? I had never heard of them 2 years ago but they have become really really popular in Europe in the last 12-18 months. I'm afraid they'll perform like the R888R (which are loved because of how the tread pattern looks - people fit them for style points! hopefully it answers your questions)

Great information and testing! For trackdays I have tried AD08, RE71R, Hankook RS-3 and RS-4, and RT660. I just loved the RS-3 and RS-4 for the durability. I agree the RT660 (as well as RE71R) had immense grip but as a person going to trackdays for fun and not trying to break lap records, Hankooks will be my definite choice. RE71R and RT660 lasted about half as much trackdays as the Hankooks did.

Where are the Michelin Sport Cup 2 and the Continental Extreme Contact??? Are the tires you have tested better???

Thanks for all your reviews. I picked up a set of the Falken's because the RE71R is no longer made. Looks very close. Slightly quieter than the RE71R. The grip is great.

I appreciate all the data and attention to detail. The Falken Azenis RT660 is next on the list for the M2C. The last set of RE71Rs lasted three track days :-( They were placed with a set of PSC2s, but man they're so expensive. Let's hope they last more than three days. Not sure why we still can't get the new RE71RS here in the US.

I put the Rival 1.5S on my Datsun pickup with an Audi 1.8t swap. Super impressed how they gripped on a mountain road touge run. Brakes overheated before tires even gave a hint of showing heat issues.

Really sad theres no federal rs-pro and nankangs ns2r even tho its 180TW

thinking of hankook rs4's 235/40/18 on a 7.5" tyre. While it may cause a donut effect do you think it'll be ok for track?

While hard to get common sizes, it would be great to see top contenders from different tests and TW’sxcompared. The top 3 here vs Cup 2r and Supercar 3, or even the regular Cup 2’s. Throwing in a Nankang AR1 would be nice too as we’re yet to see it make your tests.
