The second hand market makes it a good product for me though. It’s twice cheaper than halo plus…

I believe all three of these devices advertise 3d support. Which is great for those of us with a large collection of 3d blu-rays... but it makes the total brightness spec even more critical, since of course 3D mode will cut the effective brightness in half. (Since it has to project two images, and then the special glasses block one of the images.)

Do you have plans to review the The Freestyle 2nd Gen with Gaming Hub? I find my biggest issue with projectors is the lack of vertical options, which this really is a great solution for. Any projector i've had I've had to prop up on something — for context, my projector screen is hanging from the ceiling, and a bit high up, and since I rent I can't drill into my walls. I'm tired of jerry-rigging all my projectors. Would love your feedback on Gen 2. I'd really appreciate your advice. Love your videos, I've learned a lot :)!!

I was considering buying a Freestyle and using it at home as my primary TV set, as I needed to replace my small old TV. I don't need portability, and I thought it neat to be able to watch TV in bed looking up at the ceiling. Not so sure it is a good idea now. Anyone want to add their advice or experiences?

Can movies or shows be downloaded on to these smart projectors , to watch in camp sites?

This was a very obvious outcome, Samsung just hopes people see 'everything' with their branding is quality/value for money. This comparison shows clearly it's not. Personally it's a feature I rather leave out; a battery pack inside a projector. These things warm up pretty good, and you watch movies inside mostly. Could also cut down the price bigtime.

I thought Samsung might be past the days when or was find for paying people to make positive comments for their products and negative reviews for comments; when it's CEO was imprisoned for financial irregularities; where shop assistants were rewarded for promoting Samsung. At least they've stopped copying competitors.

Ceiling projection should of been changed to projection (angles etc) and given to free style because of the swivel design which the other projectors don't have

Lighten up, it’s easy to use and the kids love it, that’s all that matters. They get to watch sport and movies outside on a big screen and have fun doing it. To me, it’s a winner. I absolutely Love it.

Hi. Thanks for the video. I need a projector that I would also use during the day with some light. I see that the Freestyle is not very good for that. Which one would you recommend that would have good brightness and could be use during the day time with some light

Why are we seeing a comparison to a projector that is literally 2x more expensive, why would you do that?

I guess if you're looking for like absolute perfection in a video projector then you could go with this review but I have the Samsung and I think it's an absolutely fabulous projector I only paid $600 for it so I don't know where the prices are coming from I guess that was before I bought mine but..... You are right it doesn't show real great in a room with open windows and it works best in a dark room but for the price of $600 I am extremely happy with this projector especially the fact that it is adjustable on the stand... I would imagine the other projectors that you showed have to physically be angled and moved up and down by putting things under them lol.

Thanks, this was useful - I just picked up a Freestyle new for £340 which I suspect is much closer to how much it's worth.

edit: Happy with it (as all I use is Plex and HDMI) - once I managed to set it up and turn off all the crapware! Definitely wouldn't want to have paid full price though.

Thanks for this review, hard pass on the Samsung. The Nebula projectors by far are the way to go
