ОтветитьOne of the best.
ОтветитьGrhf
ОтветитьThey are neighbors in real life and like to prank each other so they were a natural for this film...saw them together on a Regis show.
ОтветитьSnake Plissken goes Caribbean!
ОтветитьSomething about the statute of limitations?
ОтветитьThis is a a well thought out video, you've got yourself a new subscriber haha.

ОтветитьLEGEND of a movie
ОтветитьI knew that boat! I knew almost all the boats used in the movie. Geez, I can’t believe this came out in ‘92… I thought it was later on in the 90s. Anyway, a lot of this was filmed at the marina I grew up at practically (isleta marina). I recognize all the beaches and the boats were almost all owned by the same old pirate like man in Fajardo. Oh to have grown up in Puerto Rico in the 90s. I had the time of my life!
ОтветитьThis movie molded my youngest son into what he is today. Mark went into the Navy to get to be on the ocean at 17 he became a sonar man on the Fadt attack sub USS Oklahoma spent 6 years in Navy he just bought a 33 foot sail boat and he is a Modern Day Capt Ron. Thanks Kurt Russell and Martin Short for one of the best Movies ever to hit the screen.
ОтветитьHe said GO-rilla, not GUERR-illa, GO-rilla! GUERR, GO...Huge difference!
Ответитьthis is so good man haha!
ОтветитьI lived in St Thomas, USVI during the 90s, and there was a pool bar at the old Ramada (RIP) and the bar would put this on every weekend and you'd have the entire bar full of drunk schooner trash hollering the lines and laughing their asses off all night... most nights inevitably ended with my ol man, Cape Cod Bob, belly flopping from the top of the bar into the 3 ft deep pool.
"Well you've heard of St Croix?
Yeah!
We're going to the island just to the left of it.
What's it called?
Ted's!"
Great f'n movie! Glad I'm not the only one that loves it!
ОтветитьLove that film
ОтветитьI was given the Moniker “Cap’n Bob that summer by a local legend and after all these 30 years, several of the Locals still call me that. I wear it as an honor. Especially when a REAL Tug Boat Captain calls me that.
ОтветитьCaptain Ron !!!
Captain Ron !!!!
Hey, Swab!!!
ОтветитьHidden Gem!
ОтветитьThat phone cord was epic. My parents bought one after seeing this movie.
ОтветитьRon Rico was an alias. It's a popular brand of rum and ron is a wanted man.
Ответить❤- this is absolute one of the cutest family friendly movies from my childhood! It is definitely a staple in my movie nostalgia collection 🎉
ОтветитьCaptain Ron was based on a real character. It happened to the screen writer. The real Caption Ron had a peg leg but the screen writer thought that was to over the top and no one would buy it
ОтветитьMy uncle is kinda like Captain Ron. He looks at life as a joke, as in he tries to see the humor in all situations. And it's a good way of looking at it, because by doing that you help to keep yourself from becoming embittered.
ОтветитьBefore there was captain Jack, it was Captain Ron. Omg loved this movie as a kid. Had the whole family watch this. 😂
ОтветитьIve been a sailboat delivery captain for over 20 years. A lot of people view this movie as a comedy. I see it more as a documentary.
Ответить“Always stand clear of the ladder,Boss!”
ОтветитьWhat I learned: They’ll get out of the way.
ОтветитьRecently, I found myself present as my son showed Cap'N Ron to his wife and 4 yo. Brought back so many good memories. We had regular, say monthly, showings of Cap'N Ron. Always, we stood and cheered, shouted and applauded when Cap'N made his fantastic entrance at the pier. I laugh at movie critics.
ОтветитьSuch a good movie
ОтветитьHe actually was a great captain. The awesome parking jobs. Surviving the giant storm. And instilled confidence in the families ability
ОтветитьGreat synopsis and great, great movie!
ОтветитьSnake just chillin' out in the Caribbean.
ОтветитьWhat an absolutely shitty review.
ОтветитьAmazing comedy ❤
ОтветитьHey Swab get me another brewski!
ОтветитьFrom Chicago!.. Yeah Boss
ОтветитьYeah the daughter getting a tattoo wasn’t Captain Ron’s fault, first of all it wasn’t his job to babysit the kids, secondly he didn’t give her the tattoo, Mamba did.
ОтветитьIm olde (78) and i remember a advertising theme for Jamaica..."come to de islands mon". The poster (there were still Travel Agencies with destination posters in the window) was of and "island girl" waist deep in clear water and obviously topless, looking back over her shoulder with a "come hither" motion.
They replicated that poster in the scene where Clarice is waving to Captain Ron.
I bet Clarice is the original model's granddaughter. 😊 🌴
Quick (& very true story). Scouting location for commercial shoot midday in Pacific Palisades, CA maybe 12-15 or so years ago, I see guy on sidewalk & realize it’s Martin Short. Not being shy cuz I’ve worked in film production for 30 some years I blurt out, “Mr. Short! All my brother & I want to know is, when are you gonna do Captain Ron 2 ??” He cracks up then with a perplexed look says earnestly, “How would we do it? I mean I thought we ended it pretty well.” & “I’m no no, your boat gets shipwrecked blah blah & you save the day. Or something like that.” You gotta realize he asked me to come up with a plot right on the spot!! Obviously it never happened BUT… I have something in the works & have a sneaking feeling it will happen sooner than later. I know, I know, their both so old now but still be damn funny😅
ОтветитьI started laughing again as soon as the boat was shown. One of my favorite comedies.
ОтветитьThis is one of my favourite movies - I watch it around 5 times a year and have done for the past 10 years
ОтветитьI wanted to go buy the yacht that is sitting, rotting in America
ОтветитьLove this movie
