My mother and grandmother cooked like that. Tomatoes are flat belly food. They knew what they were doing. This video is why my grandmother was lean her whole life. They also had milk and OJ as their breakfast drink. Those meals are under 500 calories, which means they never ate more than 1500 calories unless they did a lot of labor work as a job all day. 150 lb women back then was consider curvy and thick and bigger than that you was considered obese and it was a big concern, the family would be very worried. Please let everyone get back to this type of cooking. The apples and cranberries are used as their carbs instead of the potatoes and pancakes and bread. They were really smart cooks.
ОтветитьI just love this im 40 but do alot of this i grew up kinda poor and if you didn't fix a sock or mend something you were SOL.. I've been cooking since I was 11 and dont understand the big deal today with anyone not wanting to cook the same 30 mins you wait for over priced crap you can put in to a delicious home cooked thing for less mom be like make a casserole and refrigerator it and pop it in the oven when you get home oh yeah corn fritters a staple in my part of Tx and usually savory with bacon bits and cooked in bacon grease..i plan on showing your videos to some of my friends at church who homeschool or send their kids to a Christian school that doesn't have home ec i think your videos can help them teach their kids something we all wish was still in schools..basic cooking skills are a must.. anyway loved the video and tips and if you ever get a fanny farmer cook book try it you might enjoy them 😊..take care and God bless and have a wonderful day
ОтветитьI seduced my husband with Betty crocker dishes and ended up engaged, we are still married (24 yrs now) and now he seduces me with food. 🤣
ОтветитьOkay this is proof that they carb loaded early in their day which is why bread is on the plate. 🤣
ОтветитьThis reminds me of my Mom & the things she used to make, thank you, it cheered me up. I was worried you were going to add vegemite to those toasty eggs!
Ответитьgood! good!
ОтветитьInflation these days only rich people can afford fresh ingredients.
ОтветитьLooks like a proper English Breakfast , just shortened.
ОтветитьLoved watching this video ❤
ОтветитьHola me encanta tu canal... Eres muy divertida y simpática me gusta todo lo que haces te envio un abrazo y cariño desde Chile🇨🇱🇨🇱
Ответитьbutter is my love language. (and it's healthy despite popular opinion) yum!
ОтветитьI know some of them from my grandparents, but as dinner.
I am very happy wihout breakfast, it's only necessary when someone works physically hard.
My grandmother made baked apples as a treat. She basically did the same recipe as yours but she didn't core the apples completely. She left a bit on the bottom so sugar and butter didn't run out. She also made some cuts downward from the top so the apple skins didn't split. Yummy!
ОтветитьShe looks a bit like Ada Mesmer in the thumbnail
Idk, but the video is goo btw
i have my grammas 1950s better homes and gardens cook book ill gonna have to see if it has the apple recipe that looks so delicious
ОтветитьThanks you for all! 😊❤️

Ответить정말맛있어보입니다 따라해보고싶네요!!
ОтветитьI love your stove!! Just discovered your channel this morning and I already am hooked! <3 sending lots of love from the USA.
ОтветитьCongratulations on your engagement. I wish you both much happiness. I'm 56 and my mom has that Betty Crocker cookbook. I've always loved how it's got great basics in it. I enjoy your channel ma'am. I wish young ladies really knew just how much was expected from previous generations. Knowing the career and financial limitations even my mother had needs to be taught to kids today so they're thankful for those freedoms they have now.
Ответитьتملكين جمال مارلين ♥️♥️🌹🌹❤️🔥
ОтветитьI'm new to your channel and really love this breakfast video. Reminds me so much of my grandmother in Philadelphia cooking up scrambles and bacon or scrapple for breakfasts when I'd visit! I was wondering: what is the white creamy sauce you've put on the corn fritters? Looks delicious but I couldn't tell if it were mayo or sour cream . . . or something else!
ОтветитьI love tomatoes and the egg, toast, and tomato recipe sounds tempting
ОтветитьGriddle cakes and corn fritters are always made with cornmeal when I was growing up in the Deep South in the US. I'll need to try these, now.
ОтветитьLove your videos. Just found them recently! I'm retiring soon and am in the process of cooking more from scratch and using more whole food!
ОтветитьWe had good breakfasts has until my mom died in a gold digger married my dad my breakfast was always a bowl of cereal brought down to me in the basement. My therapist told me she did a number on me and she can't believe I don't hate all women. But I can't because my sister and my grandma were such sweet people
Ответитьلا إله إلا أنت سبحانك إني كنت من الظالمين
ОтветитьYour video is so dark, not bright enough, too little light
ОтветитьGood video
Ответить영상이 너무 예뻐요❤ 무언가에 홀린듯이 빠져들었어요😊
ОтветитьThe first one was the simplest and the best one for me. I'm going to try it out.
ОтветитьAs if straight out of the time machine, love that hairstyle, the dressing styles 😊
ОтветитьI grew up in the fifties and we do a lot of breakfast we also eat a big breakfast during the week when Dad was at work all his kids got was corn flakes oatmeal cinnamon toast simple things like maybe a scrambled egg once in awhile
ОтветитьI will try them, 😊
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьI love this, all the recipes ❤ I’m trying the corn fritters now to serve with dinner. Toad in the hole was breakfast this morning. My mom used to make that for me when I was a little girl, I sometimes forget how simple foods can be so comforting. ☺️🥰🙏🏼
ОтветитьEvery Sunday morning, my grandma would fried chicken with gravy along with her homemade buttermilk biscuits 😋. This was early supper before church meetings and visiting other relatives for the day.
ОтветитьFried tomato on bread is my absolute favourite weekend brunch meal
ОтветитьOmg I'm born '95 I love the 50s and 60s time but the breakfast is a shock because I made that tomatoe egg toast for breakfast when I was a kid and never knew it was actually a 40s breakfast ❤❤❤
ОтветитьMade the eggs on toast this morning. I did add some marmite on one toast. It was very good. I am new to this channel but I am a big fan of the olden times. I look forward to watching more.
ОтветитьWhat is salad oil ? Is that like olive oil or canola? I don’t try to eat shortening so that’s not an option
ОтветитьAll the recipes looks great! I'm getting hungry!🌞
ОтветитьWonderful. 1950's and 1960's are for me the best ages. All is perfect: music, movies, fashion, cartoons, products, commercials, life style at all. Only cars I prefer in the ages 1920 - 1950.
