Review: UnMetal

I enjoy UnEpic's games for the most part except for one thing.
Their humor.
And not that there's humor in their games, no... I'm fine with that.
It's that they don't know when to stop. They just
beat ...
the ...
joke...
to...
DEATH.

That said, this is a really good game. It is the game we should have gotten on a 16 bit console. It's the sequel for Metal Gear we should have seen on the SNES or Genesis.

It kinda makes me yearn for a Pinky and the Brain stealth game. The duo of animated lab mouse lend themselves pretty well to a genre that stands apart with well-known witty writing, methodical mechanics and slow yet fast designs.

This seems like an interesting game. I only played Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid so far but I definitely prefer the 3D versions of this series

God. I have a copy of EAT LEAD for the Ps3 and I never once thought I'd see that name again. Ever.

This game kills me.

I remember UnEpic being interesting but fairly painful to play, and I eventually gave up on it. Chances are I'd enjoy this game at first just like UnEpic, but it'd slowly start to lose its welcome.

MSX computers weren't made to compete wtih apple and ibm, they were made as a standardization for the Japanese market so Microsoft had someone to sell to, that's the entire reason why Microsoft funneled so much money into it.

I actually interviewed this developer for my school paper. In 2013. I was in elementary school! I just asked him on Miiverse around UnEpic's launch, and he sent me his email address. Got some fun answers, one of which was about his future projects. He described his next game being a sci-fi adventure with UnEpic's engine (this became Ghost 1.0). He also mentioned wanting to parody "the old Metal Gears". Back then I hadn't even played any of the games, but today it's so exciting to see his project out and about, based on a series I love!

I love Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, I played it for the first Time 2 Years ago and I felt in love with it. Unmetal looks really nice.

I only played it on hard mode, initially it was fun, but the jokes and the game's bullshit got old very quick. I finished it, but I really disliked it.

Damnit...I was really thinking about buying this game but this saving guards after I shoot them business sounds unnecessarily tedious. I hate that pacifist run crap and I'm sure as Hell not going to pay for it. Thank you for the warning.

The whole thing with English not being the first language is perfect one of the oldest memes is I feel asleep. So Engrish in and of itself is a joke and a perfect one at that to me.

to me the best part that feels like a metal gear game was the omega building with all thos cameras , you have to put everyone to sleep while replacing them so the camera would see mike standing guard there.

Sadly my favorite boss was the submarine:
-small room to run away
-limited ammo
-hard to hit with the rocket launcher.
-the ground starts to fall after some time.

I actually bought UnMetal expecting a serious spiritual successor to Metal Gear 1 or 2, but was surprised to realize it was a parody game as I had never heard of the developer before.

I finished it, and it definitely wasn't bad, but seeing how they kind of stop leaning into the humor like halfway into the game I think focusing it into being something more serious probably would have made it less jarring. Also this might be one of the few times (outside of anime games) where playing with English subtitles might be better, so you don't have to listen to English Jesse's horrible David Hayter impression. 😂

Bunny still being autistically serious about reviewing a parody is content in itself. If he actually cared about reviewing it, he’d know that UnEpic was punishing because it leaned into turning an unjust Dungeonmaster into comedy, because we can relate to that, the ones that the game is catered towards. Dungeons and Dragons nerds or in this case UnMetal’s focus; Metal Gear fans ⚙️

This game is like if Rockstar let Kojima make a arcade game inside gta6

I bought this for no reason other than I had like $4 left over on a gift card.
