I've been practicing TM since 1975, thanks to The Beatles, Merv Griffin and the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. I can't imagine my life without it.
The deep rest is incredible.

How much does it cost?? Ive heard it super expensive.

The thing about letting go is letting go of not just control but everything in ways. Events during the day, what's gonna happen tomorrow or during the week, memories that haven't been dealt with properly, everything must be forgotten in a way. When I go into lucid dreaming states I even forget about my body entirely, unless I see it from afar while astral projecting.

The mind as it attaches to negativity does not always flow toward greater happiness. Perhaps, in a meditative state it does. Awareness or being or consciousness; these are your natural state. They only flow toward themselves. There is no dichotomy there. Is that what he refers to?

That technique of meditation makes a real wonderful effect even iam today out of the depression which lasted me for 5 months and i am practicing TM Everyday when i get free time.

Explaining what is TM mantra is easy, BUT in actual meditation practice is not what everyone thinks is easy.

I feel that not every trained TM teacher are able to assign mantra that they think will fit them to meditate. The process of meditation must be explained clearly to learners why mantra is use and elaborate how mind adapts conditioning.

So, this is the man to whom we owe TWIN PEAKS, MULHOLLAND DRIVE and LOST HIGHWAY.

The mind doesn't naturally move into states of greater happiness. On the contrary, in its role of validating the ego, it tends to dwell on patterns from the past which reinforce identification of self with beliefs, political doctrines, ideologies and so forth. Its the state of no-mind that can bring us to bliss. So the maharishi is talking out of his bottom 😇

"The mind's natural instinct is for greater happiness" - this seems to be much different to Eckhart Tolle's teachings of how dysfunctional the mind is, and his solution to drop mind-made thinking as a solution.

Mantras are the names of Hindu deities. Surprise, they didn't tell you that did they? It's so simple and relaxing to repeat the names of dietes though. We won't call it prayer because practitioners are too ignorant to know what they are doing. You are calling on deities over and over, and no matter how relaxing it is, you will pay a price that is beyond your comprehension.
