magnus, right on brother,i also love iron smoke bourbons.murray hill club is also awesome.jerry
ОтветитьFour Roses limited is not findable under $500 in New Jersey
ОтветитьNice choices! Would like to see a video of top 10 bourbons with great up front palettes like Elijah Craig Small Batch. Nose is cool, finish is cool. But what about that upfront experience?
ОтветитьGreat picks. I have a Elijah Craig 18 for $250 and it's worth it.
ОтветитьDid you find that hat in Boulder Colorado by chance?
Ответить4 roses is a excellent value...
ОтветитьMithchers & whistlepig is good.
ОтветитьElijah craig is overhyped...
ОтветитьRedemption 4 the money is hard 2 beat.😊
ОтветитьNoob question: You mention Buffalo Trace releases products twice a year. Is it a fairly predictable seasonal thing or exact dates? I live in Virginia (ABC) and it's hard to find their products. Forget ever stumbling across unicorns, any product with a limited run is snatched up fast.
ОтветитьJust got the JD SB Barrel proof yesterday haven't tried it yet, it will be the highest proof for me so far, I hope I like it. WT Rare Breed is the highest I've tried and I love it. Tried 4 Roses 1st time(Small Batch Select) last night MEH, I hope it gets a lot better or I'll sell it.
Ответить$45 for plain, ol' Four Roses Single Barrel, and I'm as happy as a pig in mud.
ОтветитьSingle barrels for me: Four Roses, Buffalo Trace, Blue Note, Angels Envy. I am
Actually drinking the 4 roses barrel strength while watching your video.
Curious if Cigar Blend is still on the auto-buy list at retail. Feels like they are releasing more and more of this, the tasting notes have kind of fallen behind, and the batch to batch variations are so significant. This used to be an auto-buy for me but I've passed on this multiple times within the last month.
ОтветитьStagg is $300 around my parts. Why not say how much you would pay?
ОтветитьLove them all have most I have except for 3 in New Jersey have not seen. But I gotta disagree with ER 10 is so overrated. Love your selections tho right on point
Ответитьbought 2 eagle rare and 2 weller 12 for under 200 bucks a few years ago then reviewers said its great and boom, tripled the price without tripling the quality. moved to scotch due to "taters" propping up bourbon prices
ОтветитьDo blinds with my friends. Knob 9, old forester 1920, rare breed consistently come out high. Knob 9 always surprises me.
ОтветитьI really enjoyed your presentation as I learned a great deal!
ОтветитьYou just put Lucky Seven on my radar, seen it today for the first time and will return in the morning to purchase!
ОтветитьLucky seven is one of the best bourbon I have ever had unfortunately i am having problems finding it again in Massachusetts
ОтветитьCan you drop the list in the comments?
ОтветитьMy list is nearly identical with the exception of Lucky Seven(only because I haven't tried it). However if I were to swap that out, I'd put New Riff picks....I find they are excellent for ~$55, but no other changes... Great episode!
ОтветитьLiterally drinking my Lighthouse “Schoolbus” Russel 10yr as I watch this. I would have the Knob single barrel store picks over the JD, but otherwise I’m pretty lock step with your picks. The 1792 single barrel picks have typically been winners for me as well. Cheers!
ОтветитьWT Rare Breed Bourbon and FR small batch select are on my list. KC 12 at retail is a no brainer, so much flavor. It’s insane to think of paying $100 for ER 10, but we will get there. So many ppl I know would not touch a fine bourbon with a 10 foot pool 10 years ago and now claim to be whiskey connoisseurs.
ОтветитьI personally prefer the Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel, but Barrel Proof isn't a bad pick.
ОтветитьYou have very discerning taste. I enjoy your reviews always. You have great ability to discern good, better and best.
ОтветитьKC12 is fire!
ОтветитьSingle barrel store picks that I can’t pass up are Whistlepig 10 single barrel and Russell’s Reserve single barrel
ОтветитьDon’t make me watch this full video. 😂
What’s the best 150$ range or less
Found one Stagg bottle this week at Publix for 67.00 dollars. I couldn’t believe it. 😅
ОтветитьEnjoyed this
ОтветитьWhat is the most you would pay for Eagle Rare 10? I think my cut off right now is $46.
ОтветитьWhen I was in college back in 2017 I bought a bottle of Eagle Rare for $35. I wasn't "into" bourbon yet, and I gave the bottle away to some frat guys. Hunted it for years after until I found it for $65 in Bolton Landing, NY. I didn't let her go this time.
ОтветитьI like that many of my favorites are on this list. I've always respected your views. Now I know that our palettes are similar and will follow your videos a little more closely. Thank you!
ОтветитьFully fully agree on the Jack Daniels SB BP. There is something about everyone I’ve had that just hits home for me. The rye is right up there too
ОтветитьFor Eagle Rare what is close to retail, would you spend 120?
ОтветитьYou are wearing the Sag tee??? What’s up with that?!
ОтветитьRealy nice video Jason. While I have not had most of the bourbons on your list, I have had, and still have, is the Elijah Craig C922. For me there are two borbons that if I see on the shelf I will buy. The first is Widow Jane Decadance and ASW Fiddler Store Pick. In fact I just found the ASW at I local bottle shop and I am heading there tomorrow. Wish me Luck. Thanks for your time and effort.
ОтветитьAwesome video Thanks!!!
ОтветитьSolid list, I agree with all the picks. I'm my case, I would add Henry McKenna SIB to the list, cheers🥃
ОтветитьHard for me to pass by a rr store pick
ОтветитьWhat’s the purple bottle in the background?
ОтветитьSnagged my first 4 Roses single barrel store pick yesterday. It’s a 10 year 1 month tear 6 OESK. That damn bottle blew my socks off. Definitely on my radar now.
ОтветитьI don't care how many I have, I keep snagging Pappy because it hits the spot with pepsi to me. Just mixed one up now.
ОтветитьHow much are you willing to pay for 4R LE? I have been seeing it for $400-600
ОтветитьI'm actually surprised JD single barrel was in the list. I need to try it now lol. I have a soft spot for Michter's, it got me into bourbons and whiskeys. 10 year McKenna makes my list, as long as I can get it for under $70 LOL.
ОтветитьI started drinking bourbon in 2020. Thanks to the pandemic I discovered this amazing juice. Anywho, I was able to find ER10 for $27.99 in California. Now I see it for $99.99 , if I’m lucky I’ll find it for $65.00 . I must of gone through 10 before they started disappearing slowly, I have one open at about 50% full, and I have 3 back ups. If I see it for under $50 it’s a Forsure buy.
ОтветитьI am a bit jealous.... Have never ever seen a Stagg or Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend at an ABC store in NC.... 😞
ОтветитьI'm actually surprised no old forester made its way into this list. Hard to argue with any of these tho 👍
