imagine how many times have you ran over something with your car imagine doing that with an ev you might have to replace the whole battery to prevent the car from catching fire 🔥 for some cars the battery cost the same or more than a new car

I laughed my ass off when I attended a function and there was an electric Jeep Grand Cherokee dolled up a little at the local dealership and the sticker-price on the window exceeded $200,000.
Probably could have put a number eleven on your list: Spontaneous Combustion of battery packs spewing toxic fumes leaving emergency responders little recourse other than hosing it down for hours on end since once the lithium ion batteries reach a critical temperature and ignite the vehicle is destined to burn to the ground. More common in China so far, but happening with some regularity here and bound to become more frequent as the fleet ages.
The damn things aren't ready for prime time.
Toyota's engine that runs on water isn't online yet but electrolysis and the resultant hydrogen used for combustion is feasible and doesn't require children slaving in rare earth mining operations and won't leave thousands of tons of toxic waste as the vehicles become junk and not worth repairing.
Just my 5 cents.

Say you want to buy a used EV. Who can guarantee that cars battery is not damaged? Because you can't tell just by looking on the outside. Each battery is composed of over a Thousand batteries And their associated electrical components for Each battery. Any of those separate batteries, can undergo thermal run away, causing a chain reaction.

5. Hard to get parts.
6. hard to find public chargers that work.

Finally, someone who knows what he's talking about. What many people don't realize is that every time there's a breakthrough with this technology, the luddites / gas companies come out of the woodwork to put them down, until Tesla caught them with their pants down.
Although EVs are not for everyone, as accurately stated in this video, the genie is already out of the bottle, and the technology will continue to improve as many ICE manufacturers suffering from denial and laziness go under.

You make some very good points but the underlying reason why I wont by a ev is the overall environment cost and no measurable reduction in co2, as long as we continue to power evs with electricity generated by carbon emitting sources there is no net reduction in greenhouse gasses which was the whole point of moving to electric vehicles in the first place.

Most of these issues are so small they are almost non-existent. My insurance is cheaper, and my tires cost about $20.00 more than a regular tire (unless you get the soft tires, which are $358.00 each for ultra-posh people). Battery degradation is 12% around 9 to 12 years. Even with the extra taxes on EVs, I am still saving money over my 2015 Colorado. The longest I have ever waited to charge my EV is 7 minutes; if my car is around 70+ %, I will hop off and let others charge. Many EV owners you encounter at the chargers are pretty nice. My 106MPGE is pretty lovely. On the daily, however, I usually get 2.5 or 3.8 MPkWh, and I usually generate 1-9 miles with the breaking, so it's pretty good. My 2015 Colorado usually gets 17MPG - 22MPG if I am lucky. The 2023 Nissan Ariya Engage is a very nice ride. It is my first EV, and I plan to get the higher trim levels with the bigger battery next time.

Wow! All of this sounds like the first cars produced by Ford Model T did not have enough gas stations and not enough knowledge on how to repair, so we have developed new changes that brought scary times, but we got over it by not complaining. We adapted and came up with solutions, and more people learned how to repair ICE, and the same will happened with Ev’s!

Li-on battery vehicles are a stop gap. Before we fully adopt EV, the technology needs to improve. Whether it’s significantly better battery technology, hydrogen (or alternative fuels that push electric motors), or even free energy machines; the tech needs significant gains that overcome ice vehicles in every way.

EVs ARE JUNK/POOR FIT AND DESIGN/JUST TOOK OLD DESIGN AND PUT HEAVY BATTERY UNDERNEATH [WHICH IN A COLLISION, INS. COMPANIES ARE FINDING OUT, IS LIKE BEING HIT BY A TANK = MORE DAMAGE/MORE LIKELIHOOD OF DISASTROUS FIRE {OOPS, CAN'T GET OUT BECAUSE ELECTRICAL FAILURE DOESN'T ALLOW EXIT!?!}]. Looked into a Tesla and thought, what a lot of cheap plastic interior [oldest ones seem nicer]. Think electrical generation is going to get cheaper? Who's going to pay for these huge batteries to be "recycled'. You and i are = more subsidization by public/our taxes {Musk no dummy}. And i could go on and on.

Elon knows you will save @12,000-$14,000 in gas over 10 years in comparison to a 6 cylinder engine. To then replace the battery after 10 years he wants $16,000+labor & taxes... I haven't bought an EV and never will be.... Hybrid is my only option, but.... perhaps in the future it may come logical to acquire one...say 15 years?

Here's two that I just learned about recently. The batteries will not charge when they are cold. They have a battery heater built in to keep the battery warm, and yes they drain voltage and shorten your range. If you park overnight in 20 degree weather not on a charger, the battery will get too cold to charge. And it will then have to use the remaining battery power to heat the battery before it can begin charging - the charging stations don't provide power to heat the battery. You can get into a situation where the battery is too cold to charge and there's not enough juice left to heat it enough. Then it tow truck time.
The second thing is that if an EV is in a wreck that may have sent shock waves through the battery, they have to replace it. The impact may have jolted a connection loose inside the battery and there's no way to open the battery to find or fix it. Without fixing it, the risk of fire greatly increases. This is also why insurance is so high because repair costs will also be high. Imagine taking an $80K car for service and it costing $20K. That's 25% of the cost of the whole car!

Talking to EV owners will reveal the truth . If you live in a warmer area and simply drive within 25 miles of your home its a nice , despite expensive toy to add to your collection . However,
the TV ads are quite deceptive. " Plug it in at night and your ready to go in the moring " . Notice the ad never mentions -Go Where ? Not 300 miles like the window sticker indicates , you need at least 3 nights of charging for that . Are you OK with stopping 3-4 times to charge your EV for at least 40 minutes on a long trip ? Are you OK with driving 50 MPH on a Turnpike simply to keep up with traffic to attain the distance they advertise ? The reality is if you drive 75-80 you use 1/2 of the stored electricity . If you use the Heater, you use 1/2 of the electricity. Charging in your home garage sets up the possibility of a fire. In fact ask any Fire Dept what happens when they apply water to a Battery powered auto fire. Are you aware that once the battery fails after warranty a replacement is over $ 25000 installed ? Are you aware that Europe rental company Sixt dropped Teslas and bought gas powered vehicles ? Are you aware that American company Hertz just dumped 20,000 Teslas because they cost a fortune to repair ? Our govt is attempting to force Americans to go " ELECTRIC " to ensure that their investment in batteries provide them a fortune in retirement . Everything else happening is simply to keep our minds off of whats really happening . Its the Pied Piper story on this decade.
