Please keep pushing updates Roland... the competition (especially from Akai) is very strong, yet, I love the workflow and design of the MC707 too much to sell it. You did great with 1.2, 1.6 and 1.7 especially, can't wait for 1.8!

The problem with Roland's product promo video's is the individual in the video is a senior manager in the organization pretending to be an EDM artist. Don't be pretentious, and don't insult us with fake performances with flashing lights.

Great job, awesome box! Keeping the spirit of the MC505 alive. Would be really great and useful to have the clip/pattern settings "length/ scale/ mode/" one layer deeper inside the clip for each pad/drumsound, this way we can have polyrhythm inside a clip.

Also nice would be clip chaining that can be set in each clip independently to build up song structure, as an alternative to scenes.

Does this new machine have a proper song mode? I'll dump my Aira TR-8S in an instant if it has! That was a major disappointment of that machine. Without it, you are unable to compile a set of songs for a gig.

too bad no usb-host midi, i feel like thats a missed opportunity here because akai force can do that - the whole point of these powerful boxes is no computer, its a pain to have to go thru the computer just for midi input (on usb only controllers, theres not many udb midi host adapters on the market - maybe roland could make a cute aira one) - apparently force is still abit buggy though on 3.0.3 so im thinking it would be better to trust roland with that kind of money - also lack of pattern a chaining/song mode is a shame, with that nice little screen it could even layout clips and piano roll etc like a tiny daw window, also i wonder how deep the midi goes in both directions, it would be nice to map arbitrary parameters to external midi learn aswell as the knobs on the 707 (for example mapping deeper synth parameters or even patch changes to external controller and maybe it could support launchpad pro midi directly for clip launching and note mode etc) - also i wonder how well this handles session changing and effect and adsr trails, electribe will cut out on pattern change and glitch a bit, it was improved but still my tied patterns with the same sounds glitch on change

definitely will buy this... but only if it will be more complete. for $1k it missing quite a much functionality in sampling, midi, and clips.

How to manage real live performance 60-120 min long? Are there any idea for smooth transitions between projects? Or all 2 hours live set should be fitted into 8 scenes\16 clip per scene?

8 tracks are little bit less for me… But, if each clip has own tone with pattern (seamless sound change), this unit will be over other Groovebox. It is more worth than 8 tracks! I'd like to know sound mute is occurred or not by changing clip - tone and MFX.
One more question. I want to load the clip in another project while playing. Can I do that?

I looked thorough the instruction manual and noticed there are no: 1) Arpeggiator (Roland Grooveboxes had an awesome, halfway functional arpeggiator at one time.) 2) No D-Beam (check out the mc909 or the sp505 for Roland D-Beams). No sidechain or gate is mentioned in the manual (How can I get a thick kick and sub baseline if I can't duck the bass?? This makes it halfway useless for live shows). Not worth $1,000 but I'll delete this review if Roland sends me a free mc707 because I still kind of want one
