LG C1 OLED vs Sony X90J LED TV - Which one should you buy?

lg looks to be the better one... (actually looking at C@ vs Sony x90K now) for me..but the price being so different would/will stear me towards the more affordable Sony. 1000 vs 1700 right now.

I have tons of hdmi issues with my x90j especially with sound. The picture is nowhere near as good as my Hisense ULED. I would get the LG.

Both are great. I took the Sony X90 J, remember on a 50 inch TV the C-1 ( Its now 10/25/22) is damn hard to find, so you have to go with the C-2. They both cost on Amazon $1200. On Amazon, the Sony cost me $739 when I earned their credit card. The biggest diff to me is the 120 mhz for 4K gaming, if thats a deal breaker get the LG, if not the Sony is by far and away the best TV I have ever had!

In the video, sony x90j HDR brightness is 7.9 but when i checked Rtings website , it's only 7.0, is it because of update , kindly advice.

Would the Sony x90u be compatible with the sonos arc proving dolby atmos?

I bought an OLED TV 65 inch 4 years ago from LG and the cells get burned and the color had been changed

i bought 65 inch sony in price of 55 inch lg

After catching them at the same price (X90J 55' vs C1 48'), I went with the C1 because of OLED and no dimming zones, size and VRR

Do not tell me, please, I bought Sony X90J just today, but when I turn it on, the error "High power device. Disconnect USb" constantly flashes
and does not disappear. USb is not connected. How to remove it, can someone come across this?

The C1 is a no go. The Auto dimming feature kills, absolutely destroys details in alot of shows and movies. Its impossible to get the picture clarity/brightness w/o washing out the other colors(major fail) Just returned mines right before the 3 mnth window closed yikes... it started shutting off and getting lines though the screen. Im surprised nobody shouted out prevalent this issue has been. No more Oleds for me to much baby sitting.

I originally went with C1 but returned it. The dimming in bright scenes was extremely jarring and would often kill colors. Im talking over 50% aggressive dimming in snow scenes and in bright desert scenes on BF5. Exchanged it for the x90j and couldn’t be more happy.

I'd go for Sony as they use longer lasting tech. Lg is better for details but who cares if it only lasts a couple years.

55 inch LG C1 cost 980 euros and SONY X90J cost 850 is it worth 130 euros more? I am leaning towards LG C1 but Im little afraid since my room is extremely bright during the day :/

The Sony is 500 pounds cheaper in the UK 🇬🇧 that for me makes the Sony better for what you pay imo. That C1 is lovely 😍

I had to choose between Hisense U8G and the X90J. I chose the X90J. The lag during gaming isn't great but not horrible. While watching action movies though my experience is great. Glad I chose it. I'll probably get a UG8 later just for gaming

Sony warranty replaced my X900H with the 90J. Had a stuck pixel on 900h & figured I’d call before warranty is over 😁👍🏾😂. I previously had the 900E as well. Ive seen all these best lg oleds, samsungs, even the good versions of tcl’s & vizio. For the price & visual quality unless you oled the 90J is hard to beat 👍🏾. 65” 90j ain’t shit but like $1200-1300 🔥 edit:best buy got it on sale for 1099 3/20/22 😁

I would like to buy the Sony but I am afraid of Dirty Screen Effect. If I buy the LG it could have Vertical Banding. Thats so annoying.

LG A1 or Sony X90J?

If you like being plagued with sound and picture problems , buy the X90J. I loved mine when I first got it. Now I wish I had gotten the LG C1. It’s missing so many features and mine is plagued with problems. Bad sound , the picture won’t come on sometimes , and then there are some little things that just aggravate like going to the settings menu from the PS5 and it goes to the home screen instead. The sound sucks on this tv. And the PS5 got its own sound update and when you turn that on it sounds like it’s in a hole or a tunnel. Just the most awful sound you’ve ever heard. I can turn on my PS5 or my Series X from the controller of either one or the other and the sound won’t come on. And sometimes the picture won’t come on. So I have to hold the power button down on the remote and reset it and then it will finally work. This may be my tv only. But it shouldn’t happen to anyones tv , especially at that price.
Do yourself a favor and walk on passed this tv. Maybe wait for the next years model after they have figured everything out. But this model , in my opinion , isn’t worth the money. Maybe half the price but certainly not the price they was asking when I bought mine. Almost $1500 when it first came out at Best Buy. You will thank yourself for passing on this one . Just because it’s a Sony and they say it’s the best tv for the PS5 , don’t buy into it. It doesn’t even have all the features to get everything out of the PS5. And the PS5 doesn’t have all the features to get everything out of the PS5. Believe me , I have both and both consoles.

@João Delicado  to tell u the truth no I am very happy with this TV for the cost and size 65 inch TV is fantastic yes it's not got perfect blacks but they are very good it's so bright compered to the oleds it's not as nice to look at but still a nice looking TV sound is tiny but I am using a sound system it's fast in the menu's lots of options to mess around with still no vrr but a don't miss it I run my pc and ps5 on it and it looks great 120fps is fantastic as well remote isn't bad but it does the job

I went from a Philips 65PUS6704 to the 75" X90J a few weeks ago. No regrets whatsoever so far. The X90J is in my eyes, one of the best non-OLED TVs on the market with a superb price to performance ratio. Vibrant and precise colours and great reaction times. Probably the best option for anyone who wants to keep one eye on their budget and still wants to maximise gaming pleasure on the PS5/Xbox Series X with a soundbar.
The LG C1 is probably the best somewhat affordable gaming OLED right now, but even if you find a decent deal online, a 77" C1 still more than 1.200€ more expensive than the 75" X90J. Combined with the risk of burn-in on the OLED and the fact that I don't demand absolute colour perfection or 1ms reaction times, the X90J just seems to be by far the more sensible choice if you are looking for reliable performance for the next 4-5 years.

I found out the hard way, bought the a80j, had it for 2 wks, took it back to Costco, bought the Lgc1 65, No Comparison in my Opinion or even the X90J, Don't get fooled by the Big Brand Names Anymore, and I'm 55yrs old!!

How to get rid of auto brightness dimming on c1 oled? Energy saving is already off but seems like there is some built in auto dimming.

Thinking about returning my LG CX and getting this. Oled looks nice but has absolutely horrible motion stutter and I can’t stand watching sdr content or playing 30fps games on it

Sony X90J LED has much more natural colors and a much better color gradient AND the brightness to display all them at far more light levels.
AND I'm looking at this video on my x900f and the black bars on the side are darker than both of what these tvs display via this video

I don't know if anyone is still reading this, but I'm currently thinking about these two Tvs.. I'm actually playing a lot on my Ps4, Ps5 (around 6h a day or sometimes like when I have holidays even 12-14h a day) I also tend to watch a lot horror movies in the afternoon or night, like 95% horror and 5% action or comedys.. is the local dimming enough to have a good black level or should I go for an Oled? Yes, I'm afraid of the burn in risk :/

I truly don't understand the complaint that OLED tv's aren't bright enough. I have an LG C9...with the panel setting at 80 & it is plenty bright!....I don't want to be wearing sun glasses while watching T.V.!!

I'm about to buy my first 4k hdr TV this weekend and finally decide to go with the x90j. I do game on a ps4 not ps5.I still think it's going to be a great TV for me to game, watching movies and sports.

How is the motion on the x90j. I've read reviews saying it was really bad. I was going to buy it until I read that. Then decided to go with the c1 until I heard about burn-in. Now I'm stuck and can't decide.

X90J is $1000 cheaper... I think I'll take the 'good choice'.
