Rebar with the flux looks quite funny. Can you please experiment with self-made shielding? For instance, I heard that Titanium oxide is part of the 6013 rods shielding. White paint has it too. What if you put some rebar into paint and try welding with it? (good ventilation is required). Could you please try welding with stick made of cast iron/pig iron? It contains some carbon in it, which shall probably burn during the weld and make some pseudo protection with CO2. Your experiments are cool, but you may do them even cooler!

Fill 3/4"-1" iron tubes with as many 7018 rods as you can fit for better heat control and use gas too. Great high amp video❤

First i wanted to cry because of all the holes they gouged into that nice plate, basically ruining it. Then i remembered: they are welders and they can just fill and grind.

800 divided with 17 rods is 47 Amp per rod which is not very much. But what kind of welding rod is used on 800 Amps. And when do you use 800 Amps. I know they use 300 Amps for heavy excavator buckets but 800 Amps sounds way overkill...

Also next time you try to weld with Flat Bar like that try coating it with a Borax Paste to act as a flux. Just an idea that makes some sense if you think about it. lol
