People need to stop talking about being a single mom is where life ends. I was so afraid to leave a toxic relationship just because i was so let down. Then i realised it was the best decision i could make for me and my baby. Instead of dealing with all those problems i can focus on my dreams and we have peace home

I agree with you on child care. I do believe that many people think that putting your child in childcare is selfish.
I have struggled with this through my childrens life is my husband who believes that I can have a business as long as it doesnt interfere with being a mother.

I was doing good achieving my goals, doing online school, working full time taking her to childcare during the day, using her time at her dads to have a rich social life, and I just started to feel guilty like I wasn't spending enough time with her. So I caved and let her dad move in with me to help me with her. It is a relief, but I feel like a failure because all of that kind of led me to exhaustion. How do you deal with exhaustion as a mom when it seems like the grind never stops? Even a few days off doesn't really do it for me.

Most single moms have loads of family support. I have literally been alone with my kids no help no family and my story is not a story of success like hers. The fact that we are alive is the amount of success I have achieved

I do really agree with this, I’ve got the exact same mind set to prioritize ourselves first cause once we’ve got there, they will be more happy and enjoy life with us. Don’t want to see them in miserable situation, you need to sacrifice for them.

I have three kids. I'm low income and I can't afford to pay for childcare outside the hours covered by my vouchers. I'm finishing my degree. But meeting anyone, dating, going out feels impossible. I feel like I'm already spread too thin and I'm always with my kids. I definitely agree that we single moms need to put ourselves first so our kids get the best of us and a bright future.

I was a single mom of twins when I was 20. I also raised them by myself. My mom had passed in a car accident a little after I had them. I did a good job. I had left an abusive relationship , got into a shelter , they set me up with a job and then I paid for private school close to my job, as well as extra curriculum programs. Things were going well and I even paid all my debt and had money saved up . That until I met what I know now to be a sociopath that at the time presented himself as “ my savior.” Needless to say he ruined my life for many, many years . I was now stuck in chaos and he created havoc in my life . Fast forward to 20 years later, I have a 12 year old boy. I was able to get the sociopath out of my house, but I now feel lost, confuse, overwhelmed, depress and without a life of my own. I don’t feel that fire in my belly I used to have. I don’t feel motivated . I don’t see the point of waking up ( although I do wake up to drive my son to school in a different town.
A few things you said resonated with me and opened me up to perhaps start looking at things in a different way.
The most important take away of this video was,
“Not putting myself first is not helping anyone.” This is so true !!!! No wonder I am running on empty. It is time to free up some of my time / give my 12 year old more responsibility and stop feeling guilty for removing my presence. In the big picture he now needs me to show up in a different way.

There is no success in being a single mother or father for that matter. Go back and fix the relationship you were laid down and had the darn child with. The children raised by single parents are creating a lot of issues in society. A lot of you generation X people screw this thing up.

I am a widow... both on my side and my kiddos Father's Side there's not a single person who helps or has helped me. Since I grew up really rough and even spent time in foster care, I hadn't really the luxury to make friends. Since I became a widow around the time I would be making new connections, I wasn't.... Now that I'm 32, I just don't even know how anymore. I think about times when potential friends have offered support or assistance during covid or when we were in a horrible crash.... and I could not bring myself to taking that support. I believe I've been people that way because I'm too prideful being on my own for so long. I probably learned a little too well that I can take care of myself... but it comes at a cost when I am making things more difficult than it has to be. I think that's what holds me back...

Bought my second house already. Saving and investing lifestyle made it possible for me.., Till now I earn monthly through passive income.
