This video just gave me an epiphany while I listened to it at work
ОтветитьFOR THE GAMECUBEXL
ОтветитьNot gonna lie, I’ve been waiting years to pick my first tattoo. And I already know the first 2 are going to be about LoZ and specifically Ocarina of Time. Something about learning to face challenge after challenge with a silent character taught something about enduring through hardship without complaining and clear and ultimate focus. Something about willpower and self control in a world of chaos that you go through with Link is something that attaches itself to you when your a child, not even counting the music and the world itself.
ОтветитьOoT has an amazing and emotional story and you have so many iconic and memorable characters like Sheik, Impa, Navi, Saria, Malon, Great Deku Tree, etc.. The music is also perfection.
ОтветитьI cannot even express in words how much of an emotional journey this game was to me.
ОтветитьNever heard Epona’s name butchered like that before.
ОтветитьDude, did you skip the water temple???
ОтветитьI got to the Water Temple two nights ago and set aside 4 hours for it last night, since I'd heard how difficult it was. It took me just under an hour. Either I'm goated at Zelda or you guys all suck
ОтветитьI’m one of the many people that got into the series today because of BOTW. I first played OOT maybe 2 years ago on NSO. Without the nostalgic and childhood-building memories, the game still demands the player to feel so many emotions from the sound design to its overall theme. While its age is made apparent on repeat playthroughs, I’ll still always remember stepping out of the Temple of Time as an adult or losing my sanity in the Water Temple.
Ответитьugh, dont even get me started on the censorship in the 3ds version
ОтветитьI’d thought about the true meaning behind OoTs story before, of growing up and accepting the passage of time, but the way you worded it and put together this video honestly made me shed a tear at a couple points. I absolutely loved this video, it’s the second video of yours I’ve seen and I’m definitely going to subscribe :)
ОтветитьPre-ordered this with my local game store. 17 year old me was blown away. Its a masterpiece. Magnum opus. Its a damn shame i can't play it for the first time all over again. Still have my original copy. My 15year old is working through it now. 😢
Ответитьwait wait wait do you have a grey 1.0 cart? arent those like super rare
ОтветитьHonestly the bits about sheik speaking of adulthood I still think of to this day
ОтветитьFormer Ocarina of Time hater here.
Yeah, this is one of the best games of all time!
I love this video, I love the importance and beauty of this game
Despite me not thinking it's fun to play I can see why its a timeless Titan
I was today years old when I realized "Navi" is short for "navigator".
ОтветитьJust listening to the opening still gives me chills after all these years, eponas clip clops and then that music ❤❤ ❤ big nostalgia hit ❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьPOV seeing OOT for the first time as a 9 year old, when it came out: why does this turtle have a blue shell and a sword…? And what is he doing on a mountain?!
Friend: “that’s a shield, it’s too big to hold”
😂
This is still one of my favorite Zelda retrospective videos. ❤
Ответить“Welcome to adulthood, ready to go back?”
Dang that hit me hard
My only complaint is that if you knew anything about real fishing (not in a rude way) that mini game is unbelievably simple. Pull back and reel stop when they jump. Take 2 min
ОтветитьStarted my ocarina of time career with an emulated version of the 3DS version. I liked it, but something felt weird.
I am now on my Ship of Harkinian version at 144 FPS and free cam (sorry guys I had to!). Its simply fantastic. It truly feels like how i would imagine ALTTP would feel in a 3D world. The openness is somewhat limited, but because of the breadth of items and interactions on offer, it still retains the scope of a grand adventure.
I still come back to this video from time to time...i will never forget the feeling i felt when i beat this game
ОтветитьEmotional closing thoughts on the game at the end, made me tear up in agreement ❤
Ответитьnavi (nabbi) literally means gps in japanese
Ответитьhow tf this make me cry
ОтветитьWhen i finished the game i just sat there for 15 mins while the intro just played on the tv
ОтветитьEnjoyable video but did he forget the water temple?
The vid goes from the fire temple music to the shadow temple.
Maybe he covers it later.
But the edit says “the next temple is the shadow temple” which was slightly jarring bit it took me a min or two to know way.
Shadow temple feels a bit late game. Past mid way. As a kid. A young teen it was a bit scary.
Shadow hands dark tones and jump scares. I love that it’s in the well and the lens of truth mechanic. But it is still less memorable in detail to me.
Maybe the early temples are so iconic.
Oh I forget the 3 kid temples. So it is deep in the game by the point.
This is a very insightful video until we get to the portion where you say nothing in this video should be taken as fact.
The video contains both objective fact/criticism and subjective thoughts. You do yourself a disservice by saying this entire video is an opinion, because it's not.
I understand the thought here, people get upset if you make objective arguments and it doesn't align with their subjective views, but throwing the security blanket of, "it's just my opinion," over a video as well constructed as this devalues objective critique and your own videos.
If you feel the need to highlight that the video isn't ALL objective argumentation, then it would be better to clarify what is and isn't subjective.
Great video either way.
The scripting in this video is standout. Great job Liam!
Ответитьthe message about team holds true, even now, years later. Thank you.
ОтветитьMy defining Zelda is Mask. Ocarina is good, though.
ОтветитьSo, Spiritfarer. Yes?
Ответить10 years old when this released, im nearly 37 and still actively play it
ОтветитьLong live the Hero of Time! 😢❤
ОтветитьSo amazingly well said. Thank you for this.
ОтветитьPeople who complain about OOT's water temple haven't experienced the twilight princess water temple
Edit: Marble Pawns Zeldawave mentioned (massive W)
I heard your voice
ОтветитьThis game is truly an unforgettable experience that I had in High School. My sister used to watch me and we still reminisce about it constantly
ОтветитьGood lord, the nostalgia. There are no words for how groundbreaking and epic this game was when it came out.
ОтветитьPointing out the title screen thing- when that piano hits i almost cry every time
ОтветитьThe z targeting story is amazing lore.
