WiFi VS Hotspot | Do You Need a Personal Hotspot??

I'm on Rogers, in Canada, and have unlimited data. However it's throttled after 90 GB. I can get up to 1 Gb bandwidth, but haven't seen over about 430 Mb.

Very helpful information. We are just this week checking out the advantages of hot spots in my daughter's internet plan. So she liked your video.

I barely know about what a hotspot can do and I have a few questions:
1. Do I need a special phone plan that allows a hotspot to be created on that phone? Or, hotspot can be created on phones with ordinary data plans?
2. Once the hotspot is created on that phone, can that phone go on internet and be used the same way as without a hotspot on it?
3. Once the hotspot is created on the 1st phone, can my 2nd phone use that hotspot and connect to internet?

I have an RCA smart tv and I just got a new Samsung A53 phone and now I can't connect my tv to the hotspot. I can connect my Mac to the horspot though.

If you're gonna explain something you need to slow down and be clear.

Right off the bat she says go into your phone go to your hotspot blah blah blah blah. Blah blah where the heck is the hotspot. why can't you just slow down.

I have a question about hotspots I have a verizon Hotspot through my phone. And I can connect that to my computer and ipad. And it works just fine. I have no problems with it at all but I wanna ask you? I'm gonna be taking my G ED. Test online in my home do you think that hotspot is equipped enough and strong enough? I could use it for that. Or do I need an Internet connection like AT&T I do have unlimited data with my plan.

In some areas where regular internet is just not available. There are few options.
Cellular hotspots or starlink.
Considering the price of SL. If Mobile hotspot works, it’s almost guaranteed to be less expensive.
Also remember. There are mobile hotspot providers that will come out and say “ sorry we just can’t get a good signal” despite the fact that your phone gets a more than adequate signal.
If your in a internet crunch the best and often only choice is to find a provider like USMobile that now has 50gb on the unlimited premier plan (100gb to the phone) which is pretty generous, parred with your old phone may be the workaround you’re looking for.

Before I had t mobile home internet I’m grandfathered into one plus international so I have truly unlimited (1080p )HD tethering/ hotspot I’ve use probably about 375 gigs of hd tethering/ mobile Hotspot use for as home internet and on the go every month until I got t mobile home internet for my gaming pc cause it would burn up the phone crazy, so now I use my grandfatherd truly unlimited HD Tethering more on the go now especially on road-trips for my iPad
Mini and friends to use in the car witch is so much fun like I said most I’ll use on a road-trip for hotspot alone is 275 gigs if not using at home anymore 😅 most people can’t go over 100 gigs unless your paying extra for me it a 25 dollar international add on t mobile offered 4 years ago for that price it I love it and definitely never getting rid of such the Holy grail of hotspots 😃

Thanks. Man, lots of helpful information like How much streaming etc. Have had No use or reasoning for a HotSpot...but just learning about this for a Long Train trip (with no wifi), . Found out that Plans (at least for Tracfone) need to be of the higher/Highest tier in order to make your phone a Hot Spot and it it gives you 8GB, which will be fine for off and on use over a couple days. Waiting to see if it works. Tracfone uses like three networks? curious.

the best explanation on personal hotspots Ive found...I have verizon and get 2 Gig of data a month which works unless we're traveling in the RV. I have to purchase more data every time so I'm wondering is I should just purchase the extra time when I need it or go to a different plan? thanks

I'd like to know why it is that companies say "unlimited" data when in fact it ISN'T "unlimited". Isn't that like illegal?

QUESTION
The carriers I am looking at offer like 5GB of Hot Spot Data — is that IN ADDITION TO the other data that the carrier provides with the plan? So if the plan is 18 GB priority data, do I get 5 GB more data at a Hot Spot? So a total of 23 GB of data?

I'm from Switzerland and mobile phone plans here are quite expensive, like everything in this country - but having unlimited internet on the go without limitations is very important for me and instead of having both cheap WiFi and a cheap mobile plan, I just have a premium mobile plan and I use my phone as hotpsot when I'm at home. That works totally fine

Do you happen to know of any mobile phone companies like visible that will offer you unlimited hotspot data at least 5 megabits per second and faster my wife and I have been AT&t customers forever and we only get the 40 GB per month and the only problem is I can't get her to switch to a regular Android phone she still using a flip phone and you can't get any gigabytes of hotspot data on a flip phone and we go through the 40 gigabytes within about 10 days it's all gone any help you can send her away would be greatly appreciated your videos are very good thank you.

I enjoyed this video I will like subscribe,like and share your channel to my friends very clearly explained would have been nice if you put your phone on the ground near a area that has bad signal and then ran speed test on your laptop to see what speed u got because this commonly happens to me when I put my phone on the ground there is chance of electrical interference if there is other devices close by which can cause signal loss and also you can define hotspot as a "AP" Access point which is through your window mostly.

YES..you need a hotspot where I live....no extra heat for the phone that I noticed on my old iPhone XR
