Brilliant - thank you very much
ОтветитьExcellent 👏Thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьProbably a bit of a stupid question, but are graivy granuals just freezed dryed brown saus?( luve in norway, and the store has lots of different freezdried brown sauses( just add water), but not found stuff that resembles gravy granuals.....
ОтветитьCan one freeze them?
ОтветитьHI John, I bought your pie dishes last week because I wanted to do as your video does, but I only had chance to use them today. I followed your instructions, for the steak pies to the letter, and I am now a "Master Pie Maker" according to the wife 🙂 Love the videos, easier to follow than most and very easy to put it all together. Many thanks. Chicken Balti next.
ОтветитьThat's mouth watering. Could one save time by doing the pastry first? Considering that it has to be in the fridge for at least 2hrs and the beef needs to cook for 1.5 to 2hrs?
ОтветитьThese taste great, very well explained for different locations too. Well done John..
ОтветитьCan you tell me the brand and size of the pie pan you used in this video? having a hard finding that type ?
ОтветитьOne of the best pies I have ever made!
ОтветитьLove your pies and video thanks
ОтветитьCan you freeze these before cooking
ОтветитьThese look delicious. Making them tonight. Can I ask if you can use all butter in the pastry instead of lard and shortening?
ОтветитьLove to listen to you talk
ОтветитьThey look delicious. You're clearly very gifted. I love how you explain, step by step nice and clearly. I'm gonna give it a try. Thanks👍
ОтветитьI just found your site and I'm thrilled to start trying out some recipes. Thank you!
ОтветитьI don’t understand what the point of using hot water to make the dough if you’re just gonna chill it anyway. I’m confused.
ОтветитьGood no nonsense recipe, thanks old mate
ОтветитьI suggest if you use peas as a side dish, use sweet peas instead of ordinary green peas. Green peas are very bitter and sweet peas are much more palatable!
ОтветитьTHANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I followed your recipe and my pie was a success!!!!!!!! I can't believe I made I pie dough PERFECTLY!!!!!! your video helped me sooooooo much.
ОтветитьThat is one hell of a good looking pie.
ОтветитьSo butter shouldn't actually be cold to make a pie crust?
ОтветитьIt looks delish, I'll bet chicken could be substituted very easily along with the broth to make a chicken gravy.
ОтветитьHi John, will it make any difference at all if I use tin foil moulds instead of metal?
Thanking you in advance .Mike
Although I live in Hungary, my daughters and their families still live in County Durham. It's lovely to hear a NE accent where I spent about 20 years. I never thought of using hot-water pastry for steak pies (I use it for pork pies of course) so I'll give it a go. They don't make meat pies in Hungary so I have to make them myself. Cannot buy them in shops.
ОтветитьWould striploin and rib eye steak work in this recipe? I've both in the freezer and want to use them up. Your pies look great 💚
Ответитьthis guys voice is gold.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьOh my gosh, these look absolutely amazing! Im new to your channel but ive already saved several of your videos. This and the crumpets are my favorites so far
ОтветитьThere's something terribly wrong with your ratios 2 cups of broth is not enough it soaked up the entire liquid on a slow simmer over an hour I had to add another 3 cups of stock.
ОтветитьHi John, Are these pies (and the Chicken & Chorizo) ok for freezing?
ОтветитьJohn great recipe I’m trying to eat better and stop relying on supermarket preserved foods, can I freeze these pies before baking and if so how much longer do they need in the oven? Thanks again
ОтветитьIs there a good alternative to Lard? I dont mind it but i know ill get killed when everyone else finds out whats in it.
ОтветитьHi John, Once cooked, can these be frozen? I made these today and they turned out great. Thank you so much for the excellent recipe.
Ответитьawesome
ОтветитьCheers John you saved my Sunday
ОтветитьMaking these for the second time, so simple and absolutely delicious thanks
ОтветитьYum!!!!!😮
Ответитьthis is exactly what I was looking for.l..... I think Ill also add some peas and carrots and potatoe into the pie filling. Thank you so much for this video. !! Winter is coming so I tend to bake alot since its too cold to go outside. Meat pie sure hits the spot when the snow comes.
ОтветитьYour pies look fantastic.
ОтветитьWow, I've just spent the morning making these pies and I'm not going to buy shop ones ever again! Fantastic looking and tasting pies. Thanks John, you've made a guy who felt guilty eating pies very, very happy again :-)
ОтветитьDo you have a haggis recipe?
Ответитьthanks john, lovely stuff lovely recipe
ОтветитьSmashing, my good man!
ОтветитьYour Pie recipes are very delicious. I made them several times and everybody loves them! I was wondering: If you serve them at a restaurant you probably don't have 45 min to bake. Can I prebake them partly and just finish them off or would I bake them completely and just reheat them in the oven?
Ответитьadd some nice mashed potatoes and a fresh veggie and you got a great meal.
Ответитьoh man 🤤
ОтветитьHey they look amazing I am so hungry now love it thanks very much for your videos.
ОтветитьUrge to bake a beef steak pie, rising
