BOYA by-MM1 VS Rode VideoMicro (which is better?)

For anybody encountering problems with the Boya while using the dead cat in the wind: cut out the foam that is inside, it really works!

I have the Rode Videomicro ME for phone, so far it's been good, but seeing your video i also tempt to have a Boya for back-up, but since it's not good with the wind so I'm happy with mine. I'm thankful seeing your video, short and precise, just what everyone needs to see

The Rode seems to have more detail, especially in the high end. Both sound excellent though.

Rode makes your voice to sound tiny. Lacks of bass. Boya has a better fuller sound

You can't beat the quality of the Rode. Boya hung on until it started clipping not to mention quality control issues down the line.

boya : little "bassy" , low frequency detail, balanced treble, noise cancelation 8/10 @ $25
rode : lower bass volume, balanced treble, anti windy, noise cancelation 9.6/10 @ $40

The Boya is too bassy in an unpleasant way (it hurts my ears) and it has pretty awful resonance. To make things even worse, shockmount and deadcat do nothing. In my case, one of the cable was also faulty and RF interference is an issue. So I ended up buying the Rode. Actually, two of it and then I packed it away. Recently however I found that the Boya actually sounds good as a "podcast" microphone, used very close up in the Rode Rycote shouckmount with a thick foamy... Just keep it far away from your phone...

The only way to test is record a live band then with the crappy in-built phone mic.

I found no such difference so boya is cheap and i will go with boya

just wanted to know about distance - in studio setup
how much distance is safe or good quality audio we get for both. because boya is good being cheaper for studio but with little distance if audio quality reduces than what is the point.
then I do hv JBL Usb mic with 3.5 mm output.

the boya sounds make better but when you record of electric fan? its sounds like crack.

which would be better for a live performance? do they record in stereo or mono? does that matter?

I've had a few Rodes and thought they all sounded tinny. I'm really impressed with the low end of the Boya. You can always adjust the EQ later if you want a super crisp sound but the natural bass of the Boya is fantastic.
