I see a lot of these AI software and only one particular type of photography. Is there anything for Event photography? Mixed lighting? I have used, "Imagin AI" no option for event photography, "Narrative Photo Culling" and even "Aftershoot" for culling. Manufacturers are only working on portraits. pretty much useless for Events. I know White balance is pretty subjective when it comes for indoor event photography and it would be really tough to create a white balance algorithm but would be nice to see that someone is working on it. :) I almost signed up for "Imagin AI" but you still have to go through and touch up and go over all the edits afterwords anyway. Lightroom auto sync and auto is pretty decent. Just back off the saturation, vibrance, and bring the shadows down about 20% after the auto sync. I really dislike the pay per image unless you have an editor that actually edits like you do. Especially if the exposure isn't even correct.

Just like music, photos can be overly produced and poorly composed. Photos should be created and purchased with different styles in mind. You can tell when a photo is overly produced because it looks fake. You can tell when a song is overly produced because all the imperfections are gone. You decide what kind of art works for you. To me the best art has a human touch to it and not a computer’s

Will fix any photo? All the images has the same error. What do you mean any photo? Where are the out of focus stuff, miss-focus, shake blur, closed eyes, severely over exposed etc? Is this just an ad for this software?

How do we add the Impossible Things plugin to Lightroom Classic in the first place? The video is just assuming that one has already installed the Impossible Things and that its already showing up as a plugin in Lightroom. We need to know how to add the plugin first so that we catch up with your steps. Some are not even sure if the Impossible Thing is a standalone photo editing software which one can install on a computer or it can only work with other softwares like Lightroom. Thank you so much for the video. Its quite nice and interesting.

I think you should do this to crop sensor camera instead. Sony full frame in particular have a lot of dynamic range. Which gives even Lightroom a lot of room to fix photos. Heck try shooting with an old camera with limited capabilities. Canon 5d classic, Canon Xti. This will really show what Impossible can do.

Wondering when the big camera companies will implemet this kind of software directly on the camera. I mean, you could still have a RAW-image but the JPGs should come out like this. If Sony, Canon, Nikon are not really fast, some kind of a Tesla-like competitor will eat them for lunch.

This is a pointless waste of money for mediocre results. You can achieve the same thing through batch processing with Lightroom, using auto-exposure, auto-white balance, and presets. The problem is that many photographers don't know the potential of Lightroom's own capabilities. It's unclear what the essence of artificial intelligence is here, except for the fact that the subscriber automates the program's capabilities rather than those of external processing resources. It seems more like using trendy words like "artificial intelligence," but in fact, we get ordinary automation and importing of simple preset settings, whether it's installed on the computer or read from the company's cloud.

These photos are easy to fix even with built-in LR algorithms.
In my experience, photos with a huge dynamic range and colour temperature difference are very difficult for LR and C1 autosettings. For example, direct sunlight on the face and chest is in a shadow at the same time, and photos with mixed colour temperature, when a person and a background have more than 1000 K difference.

PS: btw, thanks for the video, every time an interesting topic.

Double exposure on 35mm? Back in 2000 a few armatures with Average Intelligence got together under my leadership for a wedding. We all knew very little....except for one genius who thought he knew everything....and decided that when a roll of film was shot he would not fully wind it back into the can. Now the next guy would pick up a roll and the rest is no history. Any thoughts whether AI is up to the task?

Interesting someone would pour money into developing stuff like this, when more or less exactly the same is already in Lightroom's roadmap. Maybe already version 13.

I could totally see myself using this AI plugin. I only see 3 downsides or things to consider:
1) you need an internet connection – that is not possible everywhere if you are "on the road"
2) the quality of the correction heavily depends on the dynamic range of the sensor that you are using – granted that even Canon now comes closer to Sony and Nikon (also Sony sensors) but if you shoot on older cameras the AI cannot fix the image outside of the scope of the sensor (ISO noise, exposure, etc)
3) it only works in Lightroom and I prefer the color management of Capture One Pro for those kind of shoots – I would like to know if Pye is also considering opening it up to C1P

Otherwise it looks promising. Maybe I try it even if I don't like LR.

Most of the time when I see a photo that needs fixing, it is out of focus, or even shot at too low a resolution. And there is no RAW file, just a .jpg. Probably the definition of a bad photo is vastly different.

Their website says "The result is a model that recognizes and correctly edits in every common scenario a photographer faces, including tricky ones like mixed lighting, low light conditions, high dynamic range scenes, and more."

Pretty ingenuine to then say that dont do animals the model hasn't been trained on them.. already off to a shady start. Also no thanks to a per image fee.

Nice. You should have done it with jpegs or smartphone pictures though. If you go out with a 1000 USD+ camera and know you shoot raw, you know how to edit the way this ML program does it.

Great tool, but I don’t think that people want to be spending $120+ per month to be able to fix their wedding shots. Hell no.

Maybe if it was like a $20 a month type of thing then you then you could argue that it would be worth it, but definitely not at 0.06 cents per shot.

I don't want to be judgmental but all of your photos "just" have a wrong white balance (and need some pretty basic exposure corrections), which if you shoot in raw is pretty easy to fix (literally just 2 sliders). Additionally, if this program is intended to be used by professionals, then all these people know what they are doing so it is easy for them to fix such small mistakes. I totally get your point about editing thousands of photos but I believe this software is very useful just for small and quick corrections (I am not a professional so no strong opinions here). I believe that a "bad" photo is a photo that is completely blown out (or important details cannot be recovered) or a photo that is out of focus or a jpeg with completely wrong white balance or a photo shot in ISO 25600. How will this software "fix" something like that? Finally, I get the title "New AI Software Will Fix Any Photo" but I believe this is far from true. Again, I don't want to be harsh, I am just opening a discussion.

If you know your craft and only shoot low volume portrait sessions, this plug in would not be needed. I can see this tool being used for those running a high volume photo business like weddings and engagement sessions.

It seems to do fine with underexposed shots. But otherwise, six cents a shot seems like you're over-paying.

This is not intended for photographers. This is made for people that pay a subscription to Adobe in order to run some images trough a plugin that requires no knowledge to use and does everything for you. Really smart. Not having a problem with the app, they have to make some money also. The people that use this and call themselvs photographers are just... bad.

Would've LR auto-exposed more accurately if you had applied the preset before auto-exposing?
As is, the comparison feels a bit skewed tbh.
