I’m STILL using a Z420 as my main gaming PC (although I’m currently in the process of building a new machine) and it runs great! I have Windows 11, 8GB RAM, an SSD, and most importantly a Radeon RX 580 GPU. That said, it won’t do anything better than 1080p, but I can max out the graphics settings and manage at least 60FPS in any game I’ve tried, peaking at 100FPS at times. It may be almost 10 years old at this point, but this machine is a good choice if you’re on a tight budget. I’m not anymore, but I’m not in a huge hurry to upgrade, because it runs so well, even in 2023

My dad's employer upgraded its computers 6 years ago, but he took his computer home and said I could use it. After installing a GTX 1050 Ti and some RAM from an older computer, I have used my Z400 ever since! Thanks for the Z-series shoutout.

Nice, that PC was a huge score tho, as I got a Z230 SFF with the same GPU for like 100$. I'm doing a 250$ build from it, however I need to move into a real case and get a bigger PSU to upgrade to a good GPU. Just waiting for the adapter cable for the motherboard to work with a normal PSU, as the SFF Z230 has a 6pin power, because the motherboards seems to make the 5volt

I just bought a lenovo scorpio board and an 8c/16t xeon, tbh I've thrown every emulator at it and it's ran them with ease. If yiur looking for a budget build and can at least afford a half decent gpu, I'd recommend using workstation gear.
