please test the camera in a live music lighting scenario, especially with blue lighting to see how it handles it. The A7S2 was terrible for it.

Thanks CVP! When you do a full review it will be great to know which lenses are best for the auto-focus, Sony G, Sigma Art or Zeiss Batis. Also footage cut with an FX9 will be useful.

I love all the detail in these videos, and especially those charts! You covered every feature I had questions on. I was never happy with previous 8bit Sony cameras , but this camera has me more excited than I've ever been about a camera; "there's no perfect camera," nope, not any more. 422 10bit internal recording, no record limit, IBIS, AND crazy autofocus?! Yes please, oh, also, it just works, and with tons of other features I would use all the time.
Question: Is it possible to control or turn off the auto screen off/viewfinder on detection? Panasonic cameras have an on/off switch.
Further testing: Raw output and ISO at native, 640 and 16,000.
I look forward to more videos, and thank you again for creating such a great video here.

Seems like there's still no anamorphic mode. Makes me consider the S1H instead.

Thanks for great 1st look - Please please test to oblivion : Colour science, rolling shutter, rolling shutter, rolling shutter, and colour science - ... did I mention colour science? - The two big banes of otherwise superb workhorse of A7 range for me since release. So really hoping among all the power a7iii packs, skin tones and rolling shutter issues are a thing of that past, and you don't have to try to mimic Canon skin tones anymore. Thanks to all the guys @CVP

Bit of a tangent since it seems Sony has started to listen to the end user, I really hope Sony reenabled the touch AF on the Imaging Edge app which was there when it was the PlayMemories app. No idea why they killed it. It was such a handy feature when you’re doing things solo

I’m sad that I won’t be able to use my Fujinon Cine lenses. Image quality would decrease to 1080p if used on crop mode. Can you confirm this please? I spent 5000$ on those lenses waiting for this camera .

Unfortunately, it is not a camera for photography, and I am not interested in video. and can not compete with 5r in terms of ergonomics. best.

How did you feel about the video autofocus on the canon lenses using metabones vs native emount lenses?

Please next show color comparisons of log and standard profiles to canon (could be the 1dxii or a cinema cam if u don’t have the R5).

Nearly 4k, a lot of money .Time you buy a lens, you just aswell by the fx7 ii. Blackmagic Ursa mini pro may be an option too. Blackmagic, seem to be pushing ahead.

Appreciate your talking about exposure modes. I look to replace a camcorder (for product demos at trade shows) + DSLR (for macros of small products) when I travel. Most important to me: 4 channels of audio recorded internally. 240fps slo mo. Interchangeable lenses. Ive used an older version of the XLR adapter on my 9yo Sony camcorder and it works well. Thanks

I personally think that Sony FX6 would be a better option for a videographer.
I have been using a couple is Sony a7iii in the last year.....I sorely miss the ND filter, the XLR connections, unlimited recording, the whole form factor of a camcorder.....
I’m keeping the A7iii, but definitely buy the FX6 instead of this camera....
