Here's a theory of mine of the Dumb blonde. Since many people like blond hair and wanted it badly, people bleach their hair, even to the roots, which damages the brain. Bleach is really bad on and in humans. That's my take. I'm not sure if it's true but do be safe with making your hair brighter.

Legally Blonde is not about prejudice against "the feminine," as some commenters have said or implied. It's a tribute to the feminine.

When I was born, I wasn't blonde. I had almost black hair. Then it changed to strawberry blonde, then to almost platinum blonde, then to a dark/strawberry blonde now.
So I wasn't born dumb, it developed over time, and I guess lessened currently. I dunno. This is really confusing! But, I think you have to work at being dumb, like you would for being smart. Or like being the bookworm/serious woman/envious psycho like you would if you were brunette. Or like being the fiesty/angry/nymphomaniac if you were a redhead.

But most of them are real basket cases nowadays altogether.

In the Legally Blonde movie, you can see a girl with long blonde hair walking in the background at the Harvard party. (You can probably see other blondes around too in the background at Harvard). I think that subtly shows that the movie is deeper than hair color.

It comes from women pretending to be vulnerable and needing a man to protect and take care of them.....Some women think men find that attractive.....WE DON'T!

I've only recently watched the movie for the first time and one small detail i really liked was that Elle's dog (a chihuahua, know for their stereotypically obnoxious behavior on screen) was actually really well behaved, just like she was very well mannered. People misjudged her frequently, the most tragic example being the feminist lesbian character who put up an aggressive front toward her despite her proclaimed struggle to embrace sisterhood and fight the patriarchy. All around, i loved how simple yet subversive this movie was and how it took a surprisingly light hearted deep dive into the deep roots of cultural misogyny (because Elle never realized her potential until she stumbled upon it by accident, due to her upbringing, being raised to believe that good looks, money and charm were enough to get where you need fo be in life)

Ok so I know people are gonna bash me...but it is not only with women...like blonde Vs brunette.... There is also a stereotype that muscular or gym going men are dumb, like there is only muscle inside their skull and not brain.... I really depreciate the fact this channel promotes misandry....

Blonde hair just as other hair types are genetically inherited and have nothing to do with a people's personalities or manners. More over,the hair colour as well as skin colours,texture,eye colour, height,skin texture, etc...all are a result of climate and the weather through which people lived in and over time their genes have to change so as to allow the body to adapt to the surrounding.For ex:The north European whites such as Swedish, danish and Norwayians are more lighter compared to their southern European folks;This is because in northern Europe there are long winters hence their skin are more whiter in order to benefit from the little sunshine they get and so on.Another thing that can affect genetics over time is nutrition and life styles but I doubt the last which is also a myth attributed to the athletism of black folks.

blondes are seen as most beautiful in a world that sees Eurocentric features as beauty. The people who control the idea of what makes a woman desirable is the desirer or the man. the man desires the blonde and because men are well men he prefers her to be dumb and controllable and be sexy of course, the "perfect" woman.

I honestly thought the ‘dumb blonde’ trope was more about misogyny than hair colour. And Percy Jackson’s Annabeth Chase is a perfect example, she’s not necessarily underestimated for being blonde but for being an attractive woman. And especially as the main character’s love interest, she’s often sometimes just seen as ‘Percy’s girl’ by other characters. A couple of examples are, Clarisse La Rue in the lightning thief musical saying, ‘she can capture ur heart.’ Or Luke Castellan calling her his ‘sidekick’ which could also be another way to say ‘girlfriend’ even when she wasn’t at the time. Hell one of the characters even asks Percy if Annabeth is his girlfriend and obviously this is meant be a cute thing but when deeper analyse it can also be about the fact that ppl don’t see her as her own person because she’s believed to be an extension of the protagonist. She’s just there for him. She breaks this stereotype obviously and shows that the pretty love interest can also be a smart strong character of her own. This was pretty revolutionary at the time considering that this book written in 2005 and by a man. Now some ppl might argue that Hermione is also a strong pretty character and that’s true however Hermione was never Harry’s love interest and in the first couple books not all that pretty, she was actually quite ‘unattractive’. Annabeth was established as Percy’s love interest as soon as we met and she was always conventially pretty, which is often why she was thought as dumb not because of her hair colour. Because women were often thought to either be smart or beautiful they couldn’t be both. Annabeth was both. Any that’s just my analysis.

Legally Blonde is one of my favourte movies since recently. I highly admire the character Elle Woods for her strong positivity and incredibly perceference. She stays true to herself without looking down on others. She's very kind and understanding. I love it how early in the first movie Elle already portrayed strikes of geniuses by letting a shopkeeper know her intense knowledge about fashion and observity by pointing out that she was trying to screw her over. That scene alone foreshadowed Elle's potential to be both a lawyer with her human skills and excellent memory as well as staying a good person who is true to herself.
Being a blonde girly-girl is no trademark for being dumb. They unfortunately are trademarks for being looked down on, but at least in movies these women can use that power to gain what they want, and fortunately for the others around her, Elle has a good nature and doesn't make enemies by choice; in part 2 she even changed her antagonist's mind into becoming a better version of herself.
From a narrative perspective, Elle is one of the characters who seemingly don't change much themselves (was good, stays good) but who changes her environment, in Elle's case for the better.
