A Fascinating Look at Baby House Finches: Time-Lapse Video with Live Nest Cam

It's amazing to see the development of these little birds! Time flies so fast, but these adorable moments will last forever. ❤🐦

The House Finches in my yard keep getting sick. I'm doing everything I've read I'm supposed to do: putting feeders away for a period, disinfecting and cleaning feeders and keeping them fresh and clean, fresh seeds, no standing waters anywhere. It's gut wrenching watching them fighting for their lives. Is there anything to do about stopping the virus and/or treating the Birds? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm in North California.

I had house finches last year on the front door, so I only exited and entered through the garage. It took roughly three weeks from when they hatched to fly away and leave the nest. It’s amazing how fast something so helpless can grow to maturity. The father also helped a lot with taking care of the nest, watching over them.

It is pretty funny how he just drops off the ledge, I also actually chuckled. Di does a hop and opens her wings a bit so he definitely hurls himself off, with style! Big crop on Di, so X seems to be a good mate.

Other birds 🐦 could learn from these birds. The mother &father feed each one every time no fighting no killing over food. They all work together. Great video guys.

This season, we had not one, but two pairs of these building nests in our front porch simultaneously. One of the nests were successful, except for one egg that fell and smashed against the floor. For the other nest, I didn't see any succession on raising the chicks (that I also didn't see). I don't know why, but it couldn't be fighting for dominance because both pairs have seemingly got along very good, it could be that I missed that succession.

Wow compared to other bird; this one knows how to feed everyone.

At the end, it's basically a turd nest! LOL I love how the parents make sure each one gets food. Usually its the strongest that get it but this breed makes sure each one gets some.
