Annie Gibson Roberts was a beautiful, well-educated, well-connected, well-traveled young woman who could read and speak seven languages, and yet she decided to marry an officer of the Seventh Cavalry and embrace the uncertain life of the American frontier.

For a more indepth look at Annie's life, please read A Summer on the Plains with Custer’s 7th Cavalry, edited by Brian C. Pohanka. Annie's diary gives a view of how the officers of the 7th Cavalry lived, rather than the usual focus on one bloody day at the Little Bighorn where so many died.

Please know that I AM NOT A HISTORIAN! This is only my third try at PowerPoint and I continue to learn and figure it out as I go ;)

For more about my current work-in-progress or my published books (The Confusion of Languages and You Know When the Men Are Gone, both with Putnam/Penguin), please see my author website:

I also plan to continue this Lives of the Little Bighorn Series so, if you are interested, please suscribe.

THANK YOU!
