As I write this my partner, friend and soul mate lays in a hospital bed no longer alive, breathing each breath by the force of a ventilator. We began the time we shared in 2015, neither of us knowing, or possibly believing, at the time, that it would culminate in, "I love you's"... Much has happened since that time; tears, romance, rapture, fights, laughter and much joy. If I only knew how limited our time on this earth together was. What would I have done differently? Reasoned more. Probably fought less. Can two broken vessels come together to form a whole? My answer?

This was a man who after 9 years still held me longingly in his arms but on the previous day would change my chamber pot and I his. If there ever was a chamber pot to change, that is.
