Stand-ups are so incredibly boring after a few days. Tedious. Just talk to people you need to speak to, that's all

I never had a daily stand up until I started a new job. It was so annoying... I mean everyone knew who was doing what so I wasn't sure why all the meetings. If I have a problem I send a chat message to the team.

Who should facilitate the scrum ceremonies and daily standup meetings in the absence of the scrum master?
Please help me on this..

It feels amazing to attend stand-up meetings whether it is formal or informal. Everyone gets on one page and works towards the best possible way to figure out the solutions and tasks that need to be accomplished. Stand-ups should be a mandatory part of the workplace culture. As it is well said it makes the team stronger and more effective.

They are UP TO 15 mins. Doesn’t have to be.

In the real world, this turns into dreadful meetings where the lead calls on each person to report their status and it takes forever

I find daily standups excessive, especially with everyone using Slack and raising blockers there. We meet three times a week and that seems to be a good balance.

Should there really need to be Daily Standups? Why can't it be alternate standups. That's every two days. My experience has shown daily stand ups to be a very quick way to build Mistrust in the team. Imo goes against the very purpose what Agile's trying to achieve. I don't believe in rigidity in practice as there's always a better way to do stuff. Then again that's just my opinion.

Some guidelines here are not valid example: SM & PO they don't need to join stand-up and if they do so they are passive unless asked for help by development, 3 questions are just a suggestion how to run this meeting

Hi Meghan, please use the terms referred in Scrum Guide if you are talking about Scrum.

The reason why it’s called Daily Scrum because we want to be inclusive. I’ve worked with someone at a wheel chair. It wouldn’t be inclusive to call it Daily Standup when there is someone in the team who can not standup.
