Sony A90J vs. A80J | OLED Showdown

Hey love the videos. I'm looking to get a new TV in the next few months. Leaning Sony as I've got a ps5 and i know that certain features unlock on bravia TVs. 55" is the size of choice(pause). In the UK, A80J can be had for £980ish, no A90J or K here, while an LG G2 55" is around£1299. While upper end A95K is £2199. Aside from price which of these three do you recommend? Will the A95K go down in price one A95L is out?

There is still some inventory of the A90J on the market. Would you still consider the A90J a contender against the current Sony line up or has new tech out stripped it enough that the newer stuff is quite a bit better?

With the significant price drop of the A90J in 2023, I went ahead and purchased one recently. You can't beat a flagship model.

I recently purchased the A90J 55 as it has been marked down to about 40% of it's original price in 2021. Can't beat the flagship model.

Revisiting this video now is really interesting. One really could be hemming and hawing between the A90J and A80K (which is super duper similar to the A80J as I understand it). The prices aren't that different like for like these days, so the design and picture quality difference really start to matter to real people making real purchasing decisions.

I, personally, just chose an A90J. I like how Sony does TVs and I don't like how QD OLED turns grey in a well-lit room and kills my shadow detail, so my options were these two. I primarily went for the A90J because I doubt I'd like the semi-gloss finish on the A80K since I'm so bothered by the grey panel on the A95K I returned.

I have the A80J and love it for the picture but the GoogleTV on it gets laggy and needs to be rebooted every couple weeks so that sucks. I should probably switch to AppleTV. I came back to this video regarding the A90J as I'm not looking for a TV in my basement entertainment room and I'm looking to stick with Sony as they pass through both Atmos and DTS-X through the eARC port whereas a lot of other brands don't according to RTings. I want a 80+ inch TV but the A80K does't come in that but the A80J, that's still available does. But $5k is so much money for a 2 year old TV now. Will there be an 83" A80L for 2023?

This new a90 j bs its bright...we own the A80J ITS FINE...you dont want a over bright tv and have dark colours over saturated ...i think a80 j is better less bright you can see more detail when little darker...also who wants a HUGE light in there room...isn't a tv sapost to be a MOVIE THEATRES look? also we own a SAMSUN UNJ7100 so bright it look like shit.. Huge bright glowing display light hole room up ...lame... Lil dimmer and slimmer for the winner

TLDR; You literally cannot go wrong with any one of these TVs and that is true even in March 2023. You will enjoy both without noticing a difference period. Great video and well spoken.

I bought the Sony A90J 65" for $2.2k new at Best Buy this weekend. Excited to finally use it once it's delivered in a few days. Only $200 more than the Sony A80K 65" and Samsung S95B 65".

Honestly people that pay the high price for these oleds seriously must have a proper theatre setup... Sound is totally irrelevant...

Na it’s not bull. Even going from my c1 to c2 the brightness was a game changer for me in a dark room
