I decided to watch a video on this as I realized from since I was younger that with cartoons whenever they had movies, something always felt more serious about them other than the better animation quality, now that I'm older I realize how I was responding to wider aspect ratios

Aspect Ratio is more about technical aspect of projecting certain physical celluloid of film's aspect ratio to certain big screen aspect ratio in theater. so it would match. A movie that shoot with 2.35:1 aspect ratio would projected match to 2.35:1 screen. and IMAX has 1.43:1 aspect ratio, so it need 1.43:1 screen too. if the theater dont have IMAX screen or just have cinemascope 2.35:1 screen, they would projected the standard 2.35:1 version of the movie. easy.

How do you get all these aspect ratios on post production? I can't found somebody that make a video about it...

Great explanation I have an older Epson projector I've only used it once but it only goes to 4.3 I think is there a way I can make it go up to 16,9 it would be a shame to have to get a new one any advice would be most appreciated thanks

If i remember right the life of pi have different formats. In one scene it even use 4:3. But the rest is widescreen

Nolan changes the aspect ratios vary abruptly ....specially in DUNKIRK ...and i just don't like that. I know its becoz of imax and normal camera but its just not good to switch the ratio.....it breaks the feeling as well as continuity of the scene.
(Its just an opinion ......do not hate me pls)

I kind of already knew this in some way, like one of those times you're just like 'oh yeah of course, that makes so much sense' but this was really interesting to watch.

I had no idea there were so many variations commonly used, I know a lot about different monitor aspect ratios but it was really cool to see aspect ratios in film.
I also really loved that you highlighted it so well, rather than just talking about it, nice work.
