This is disgusting to this day. The track conditions were horrible which was the only reason why it looked a bit chaotic. Many horses and jockeys were doing similar-looking things throughout the race. His speed and conditioning were clearly the best during this race and would have won no matter what. This is as pathetic as the time the Dallas Stars won in 1999 despite the foot in the crease.

Maximum Security was the best here but unfortunately his jockey was not.

He's 1 of those rare horses that when another horse comes up even or starts to pass him he says "oh no your not" and kicks another gear in. Most horses give in at that point

It was the right call. Like it or not.

I have been around horse racing all my life, and this call to bring down Maximum Security is and was a detrement to a sport that has been overtaken by on-line sports betting, and pro sports that pay way too much money! What a discrace. He got the start and led the whole way, he bounced around some as every horse did on the off track conditions. There was another reason that he was taken down and it has been kept quiet. The sport has been taking hits over the years by cheating owner/trainers. Last years winner was thrown in at the last minute after millions were already bet. The stewards bthat took him down should have been asked to review and talk out loud to the public. Not keep there findings secret. Everyone needs to wake up and realize the wrong doing in sports.

I was there and bet on Maximum Security, he was my derby pick for months. It was heart breaking and everyone around me was extremely disappointed. To this day I still think that was a horrible call.

Dec 10 (Reuters) - Former Maximum Security trainer Jason Servis has pleaded guilty in federal court for his role in doping racehorses under his care in order to win more prize money, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York said.

Prosecutors said Servis doped nearly all of the horses under his care including Maximum Security, who appeared to have won the 2019 Kentucky Derby before being disqualified for interference. The colt went on to win the $20 million Saudi Cup, the world's richest horse race, the following year.

I've watched my share of horse races, and "interference" must be a new rule, otherwise half of horses I've seen racing in previous years would have been disqualified this way. This was absolutely ridiculous.

A total disgrace to the Derby - that new judge should have been sacked for ruining over a century of proud tradition. Minor infractions like that are commonplace and must be weighed against the importance of the event or you end up with yet another great sporting event destroyed by overly strict officiating. Competitive sports are meant to have an element of physical risk and toughness. I've been around horses all my life - just watch horses in a herd, especially in the wild. They rough-house even when playing; it's in their nature - they're built to take it! Jockeys are experienced with and conditioned for it too. I think it's much more true to the species going all the way back in their history to judge them for their overall power and dominance, not just for their speed and stamina. Let them use their muscle a bit and jostle for position (within common sense limits; these aren't chariot races LOL). That's the way horse racing was done for almost its entire history.

Sadly, it's all about the money now, including the rules and judging! Might as well incorporate each horse individually (not as a whole stable) and have their CEO's, Boards, and lawyers negotiate, arbitrate, or litigate the outcome of each race. That's close to what this sport has become already...

It still hurts for me to watch this, Maximum Security deserved that win, Country House was not affected by his move at all. To this day I still hate Flavien Pratt and Bill Mott. Judge me if you want
