Caff left VG (initial server) because the ranking system was rigged. It rewarded people for getting a bad time and improving. If you started with a good time, you weren't rewarded that well for improving. I knocked him off #1 points on VG before the point system got reset and the name changed to Dualism. For comparison, I could barely clear tier 4s. I just had a lot of maps completed with dogshit times and improved them. Caff's rival at the time was SyStM. Those 2 set all the records for VG if they were on.

If i had to guess i have 1k hours surfing and i still wonder why i gave up i had so much fun.

On a side note, who makes the maps? How do they know the proper distances and angles? How long does it take to make one?

I used to surf a lot from 2012-2015, sadly it seems to have kinda died out. There was always KSF on source, then there was Opium Gaming on CS:GO which died and people switched to ksf which unfortunately kind of died on CSGO as well.
Hopefully in CS2 surfing can maybe return to glory.

I remember me and my mate were on the last stage of a map and caff joined, rtved and started going for bonus rec so on a good run we rtved like he did to us and he banned us 💀

As someone who usually surfs t1-t3 to chill, I can really appreciate the level of effort it takes to get that many WRs on maps that difficult. Caff is a beast.

I was one of the devs on ZTS. Just FYI it's not pronounced the way the Yanks say it. But yeah. The Saucepawn documentation was (and is) absolute trash and so we sort of died out before CS:GO got released and the owner was always a bit flimsy and weird.

I remember I beat my first tier 3 in a zts hard server after school back in like 2015 or 16, I was super starstruck because it was just me him and duck who was super cooked and kept trying to rtv and i was this little squeeker kid who was too scared to talk to them but caff voted to extend and I ended up finishing in like 55 minutes. Cant believe he ended up becoming world class.
