Charlie couldn’t return the fizzy lifting drink because he drank it. He returned the candy as shown in the movie. Returned instead of taking it to the fake competitor for a big pay day.

There’s a black actor in his first Batman movie.

I often think that something clicked in Burton' head when he separated from Helena B. Carter. He looked off color and even sickly to me in interviews. I guess it affected his will to make movies or be himself anymore. Some years have gone by and he may have recovered but at a cost. I heard him talk in a new interview and despite the host's efforts, he did not even mention his professional partnership with Johnny Depp. Weird, weird, if you ask me!

Fantastic video! Great analysis. I loved his movies growing up, but haven't as much with the newer ones. the new ones feel like disposable products instead of soulfully done masterpieces like his previous work.

I think what you’re leaving out is that when DISNEY chose to redo all their classics, they also included a plan for Dumbo.
Disney wanted Dumbo to be realistic and have the tones for it that reflected that. They obviously chose Tim Burton because of his past work.
Tim took on the role because he could do it in a state that was more authentic to his way of filmmaking but he could tackle the movie in the same way Disney wanted to push their message and movies for the past several years.
I wouldn’t blame Tim for how it came out Disney films have and are still continuing to sharply decline in both popularity and substance.
I don’t think you took in other variable aspects surrounding the films other than focusing and honing on this man in some kind of mentally unfocused decline.
It’s a reach and people change. Music changes. Films change. People’s ideas and creativity grow and change. You cannot ignore that and hold him to some kind of unfair parameter he doesn’t even hold himself. He makes movies on what he knows and tries to compromise without taking away most of his originality and creativity.
I wonder if you’re going to have that same effort and focus when the “Rise of Tim Burton” circles back and you make a follow up film. 🙄

I used to like his work, but Wednesday 💀 he just got this character from a series featuring a family as a whole and made her an aNgSTy TeeNagER in a boarding school chasing after boys and monsters and "oh, the school dance!! Imma wear a black dress because BlACk Is mY HaPpy cOloR! So quirkyyy 🤪" his movies and productions just appeals kids at this point

Burton went from making brilliant original movies to mediocre remakes of established classic films.

Only problem with this video is how little the host understands Sleepy Hollow, one of the best Halloween movies ever! Poor thing is missing out!

Decline???? Give me a break. Such a stupid video. Burton is an auteur and genius. That’s like saying Picasso is declining. What a stupid thing to say. See how stupid that sounds.

His Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie genuinely traumatized 6 year old me, thanks Tim :)

Edit: Hold on, he thought the old one was too disturbing and then made an even more disturbing one??

Tim Burton to has become a one trick pony. Everytime i hear a new film being worked on i joke by asking "is Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter gonna be in it?"
