How is 100ml of vinegar equal to 20% but then 5% of IPA is 50 ml? I would thing 5% would be 25 ml.

This might clean light limescale and soapscum but has done nothing for my shower glass. Tried other of your mixtures and nothing takes it off. The shower has been squeeged and sprayed with simple greed on a regular basis so why what's on there won't come off makes no sense.

thank you! this worked like a charm. my buildup was dark stains that i couldn't get rid of with cleaners on their own. it did take a couple tries and leaveing it on for 10+ mins but buildup was removed with a stiff brush with your solution. I'm glad I cleaned up with household ingredients!

edit: i reduced the water ratio and i think that helped with penetrating the tougher stains.

Your cleaning mixture has worked a treat! I did not know which components to use but after watching your video, mate you have made it so easy for us! I used a very fine steel wool lightly to clean first followed but wipe off with a paper towl.

Holy sheet! I just tried this and it worked really well! I’ve tried so many different store bought but cleaners with virtually no results. And now I try this dirt cheap method and it blows them out of the water 😂 I wish I’d found this video sooner. Thanks so much for the advice!

the cheapest dishwasher power you can find, one table spoon, 1l water mix until dissolved and it's the BEST glass cleaner in existence as it's designed to remove grease, much and grime.

Awesome video, thanks...it works great! I admit that I was a bit stumped by the concentrations b/c it was little vague (at least for me) but based on @CleaningHowTo comments below, it appears that he used the following concentrations for the final solution: 5% vinegar and 70% IPA with a little dish soap. To make what you need, a good equation is Concentration1 x Volume1 = Concentration2 x Volume2 (aka C1V1=C2V2). I targeted a final solution that was basically around 4% vinegar and 3.5% IPA (my C2 values with V2 being 500ml) but one doesn't have to worry about exact final volumes/concentrations....it's not that critical. Basically for a 500ml solution, I used 400ml of 5% vinegar, 25ml of IPA and filled the rest w/ water (and 2 drops of dish water). You can make the volume that you want but he does a great job of citing his amounts for 100ml of total solution on his web site. Sorry, this was a bit wordy.

I will try this thanks. One word of caution though. Cleaning vinegars can vary from 6% to 10% acetic acid. I used a 10% Cleaning vinegar and it ruined my grout in a short time.

The product that you gave a link to does not even say what strength it is. There are vinegars that are industrial strength as well. Regulations and laws vary by country, Depending on your country, most vinegars that are over 10% have regulations about who can sell it and use it, quite like garden herbicides and pesticides have.

It may be safer to add a caution to your information to not use any vinegar over 6 or 7%. Pickling vinegar is often 7%. Anything over that is cautioned or restricted for food use.

Most shower glass that looks like this is unfortunately too far gone to be fully cleaned. Tap water is sightly corrosive to glass so over time glass becomes etched on the surface. Once this happens there is no way to remove water stains as it is actually etched into the surface layer of the glass. At that point the only way to restore that glass is to polish the marks out with a cutting compound. The problem can be prevented using a neutralising agent after every shower and these are relatively common now often marketed as easy shower cleaners.

Tried this on our shower screen now which has had 20 years of soap/calcium accumulation thanks to the previous owners. I can see some improvement but still has quite a coat of soap/calcium marking. I might need to give it another go and try using with fine steel wool instead of the magic eraser.

Not cheap though, if you add a magic eraser at about $1.25 per use, it is quite expensive, and you have to throw that used plastic eraser in the garbage, not great for the environment.

I was first introduced to vinegar as a cleaner back when cleaning glass in a kiosk. Just a bit of neat vinegar dropped on newspaper. The paper is mildly abrasive. No water used
Ive used it to clean mould from the walls of my 150 yr old house walls as well.
I use a water and vinegar spray to neutralise smells from my dogs on my concrete patio and ceramic tiles esp the grouting.
