What I heard is that you can’t advertise. So a spinster can sponsor you but when you put your spinsters advertisement up that’s when there will be a problem?

thing is. if a person or company put that much effort into an idea, they will still want to do that even if they claim they are "sorry".

here is the thing. If a person or company is truely repentant for doing something wrong, there will be fruits or things done to show that repentance. anyone can just press delete and say sorry. People need to look for changes in behavior. Yes, accept the apology, forgive the wrong, but dont trust them until you see a change.

Rules are generally not specific because they can enforce them as needed. If they are too specific then there is wiggle room to argue against it.

Hold up, since they people can't get sponsored by gambling products now, does that mean that games like Genshin and Star Rail can't sponsor poeple on Twitch now?

There was a clause that wasn’t talked about. I only noticed this when I stumbled upon a tweet randomly in my For You section. It’s how Twitch can terminate your Twitch Affiliate if a creator doesn’t have much interaction their viewers, or if Twitch themselves doesn’t think if the content is good enough or not.

This is still disgusting of Twitch to state it.

Of course. If they went through with something like that, then they would lose the majority of their streamers not including the smallest streamers. At that point they would probably lose money or struggle with making profit off of twitch alone. When i watched the prev video about those guidelines i thought this will be the end of twitch unless they dont implement it. And its true

Twitch has placed a quality limit (up to 720p) on Korean viewers. I think this is too national or racist behavior.

They ran it up the flagpole and if there was no noise then it’s fine, but the threats of money fleeing the platform meant that they could tell the shareholders that they tried

Was watching the Bethesda Premier Trailer releases this afternoon, on Twitch, and there were freaking banners in it. I have Prime, and I sure as heck know that Bethesda had paid Twitch for the huge release, and STILL Twitch was sticking freaking banners all over. It was disgusting.

Nah, this isnt a win for Twitch for trying to screw people in the first place. Its like they bent you over, pulled your pants down, and was inches away from doing what they wanted. But decided to not commit due to you complaining. Then turn around and say thank you twitch, this is a win for you. Thanks for not screwing me

Disclosure on companies as far as i understand depends on if the company is public or private. A company still had to at least disclose to its users what they are doing or its employees but like money stats, employee rates, earnings. All those can be either public or private depending on how the company is on the market.

They can’t selectively enforce it, as now that the guy at Twitch said that they wouldn’t enforce against sponsorships they are now prevented from doing that, because people will rely on this representation from a real Twitch executive and then if Twitch tries to enforce anyway, they can’t due to the legal doctrine of “estoppel.”

They didnt walk it back, its in the new TOS. They walked back what, 3%?

Claiming the new TOS is "boiler plate" is bullshit because it's the concept of the "fairweather friend" is that they won't enforce it until things go bad.
