Checking Out 4 New ASUS Z790 Motherboards

Asus TUF Z-790 is a piece of Muthafucking Shytteee. I bought two from Amazon in both did not power up.

I’m using the new Z790 Hero board with two new M.2 drives. I know to install the first one in the highest slot, but where should I install my 2nd M.2 drive on the board? Does it matter?

Correction here, the Z790 Maximus Hero can only support a gen 5 ssd on the hyper card and when it is connected to PCIE #2 slot. Not on the top m.2_1 slot.

Please answer publicly if we have a graphics card that works x 16, does the motherboard have the ability to support SSDs via the PCIE 5.0 port? - there isn't!!! because the Hyper M.2 card works in 5.0 mode only in the 2nd PICE slot, and when there is any card in this slot, the PCIE support for port 1, i.e. the one with the graphics card, drops from x16 to x8 !!!

Z790-E: 4 Dimms DDR5 doesnt work with XMP or higher than 5600MHz. Mass RAM Errors.

I have built with Asus motherboards for the past 25 years. love them, This year i think im going with MSI. ASUS lost the bang for the buck this year. 630 to step in the MAXIMUS line. waiting to see results on the MPG Z790 carbon wifi.

790 is a waste of money IMO.

We don't think i Intel or AMD, the only thing we think and want to know is price price and price.

third mobo has giant backlit clear CMOS button. i understand the need for giant flashing lights from marketing perspective but clear CMOS button should be behind a tiny pinhole so it doesn't get pressed unless you really mean it. it really makes me question how much of that motherboard was designed by the marketing department. probably all of it.

hero doesn't have m.2. 5.0 nvme on the board, its added as a card. He mixed up also the strix-a ddr4 white board with the strix-e. The specs are literally on the placards below. I think pc world could have done a lot better here on the reporting

building new pc and making build white silver and that white board is to good to say no to, so good looking, to bad its only aviable with ddr4 so guess I wont adept to ddr5, what a shame >.< msi white board aint even close to the looks of this

There's only 1 big issue they needed to fix, and that's the CPU heatsink. They haven't done that. You can't blame Asus for it, because they have built the boards according to Intel's specs.
But everyone knows about the urgent need to replace that primitive lever system which results in uneven pressure and therefore uneven cooling.
Instead of spending money on those stupid RGB Christmas lights (for kids or adults who haven't really grown up) they'd better spend their money on fixing the heatsink.

"liked to have 10Gbit ethernet"... Why???? unless you have set up a 10GBit network for thousands at home, you internet connection will still be <1Gbit in 99.9% of all use cases. This is just another stupid PR stunt were Joe Schmo can brag about having a 10GBit connection while everything but his motherboard is limited to 100Mbit still probably.

ROG Maximus and ROG Prime are pure lexury those two motherboards are high quality to the max. The TUF gaming and ROG STIX are great too thumbs up. 👍

The lack of usb in these motherboard annoy me so much. Like Both My old Z77 and Z590 motherboard has more USB ports than that
