Oh my how I miss this! I was born in Merced and we spent many times on the Merced river and around Yosemite. Years ago I wrote this:
"Time Passage"
"The warmth of late Summer sun upon my face.
Upon a large, cool, water worn,
smooth rock at the edge of
the Merced River I rest.
The ice cold, clear water flowing
over my bare feet,
gently nourishing, restoring
my soul.
While future dreams, from long ago,
drift through my weary mind,
a single tear becomes one
with the river's flow,
as I wait and wonder....
If this is the time
I shall never again know? "
Due to health issues, I'll not ever be able to go there again. Thank you for posting this, next best thing to being there! 💛

I had to send a link to this to my friend in Rotterdam who came for a visit in 2015 so we could spend a week in Yosemite... which we did. It was later in the year so the river was not so full, but this scene is familiar. We both took photos near here. Thanks for this lovely scene.

I'll tell ya right now that's no where near merced. Merced is a waste land of homeless and drugs.
