Good grief. I keep forgetting to hit enter after move. You do rock. My "professor" takes nearly a week to respond to any questions ... especially dumb ones. :)

what about the @ thing in front of your chosen dimensions ? does that use UCS as base point ? I remember using it a ton couple of years back, but I can't remember why

Nope. My left mouse click after selecting objects only exits the command.
