This is the video I should have watched before I took the welding class that I failed. Everything is perfect. If you are starting out, watch this video at least 4 times.

I'M A SELF TAUGHT MIG WELDER NOVICE AND I'VE BEEN WELDING STAINLESS WITH FAIR RESULTS BUT, I KNOW THERE WAS SOMTHING BETTER, SOMETHING WAY BETTER! LOL...

SO IN MY EFFORTS TO FIND THAT "SOMETHING", I DISCOVERED THAT TIG IS THE PREFERRED METHOD FOR WELDING STAINLESS ....AND ALUMINUM ( ANOTHER MATERIAL THAT I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT USING FOR MY BUILDS HERE LATELY ) IT'S A TWO-FER! 🙂

...THAT BEING SAID, I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT ALL SORTS OF TIG WELDERS ONLINE AND CAME ACROSS THIS VIDEO DURING MY RESEARCH... & MAN, KUDOS TO YOU!

THIS VIDEO HELPED ME CLEAR UP JUST ABOUT EVERY QUESTION THAT I HAD... AND THEN SOME THAT DIDN'T KNOW THAT I HAD, LOL... ESPECIALLY ABOUT THE TORCH AND ITS COMNPONENTS AND WHAT TO DO WHEN SHIT HAPPENS! SO I WANTED TO SAY THANKS! THIS VIDEO WAS FANTASTIC, VERY INFORMATIVE... AND IM A DETAIL NUT.. SO I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU TAKING THE EXTRA TIME IN SHOWING ALL THE POSSIBLE FU@* UPS... AS WELL AS THE TIPS HERE & THERE, THANKS AGAIN! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

What's the function of the back cap being so long? Is it so you can adjust whilst wearing gloves?

Great channel! i have been binge watching your videos for about a month now expecting to get my first tig welder. Just got the primeweld 325 and ran my first couple of beads today. Here are couple of questions / things i have noticed as a newbie.
1. Was running 80A on 1/16" aluminum and would burn through before i get a real clear weld pool (30% bias and 120Hz).
2. Running aluminum or steel the plates would eventually warp from heat. Often plates would be red hot next to where the puddle is. Guessing not enough power and taking too long?

A newbie question would be: what thickness of material steel or aluminum to start with to have enough thickness to not warp it or burn through it, yet sufficiently thin to also not warp it due to lack of power. I realize that welding is about watching the puddle, not about the settings; but to remove the variables for the newbies, what is the good choice of amperage and thickness / size to practice on. It's always tempting to start with a big piece to practice beads on, but then it gets hot before it is full and warps...

Thank you for a very informative video. You are clear and precise in your explanations. I have yet to pick up a tig torch but I now have a bit more confidence in doing so.
Thank you again 👍

As technology moves along we try to stay up with current fads, and I should have learned TIG welding many years ago is an auto body tech , but now they even have laser welding out and it's totally insane. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

Great tutorial ! - The reason why you weren't messing up when you were supposed to is because you are far too good at Tig welding !
Fab video -I enjoyed watching and learning the do's and don't's of Tig welding from a professional teacher ! - Thanks - It was a great help to me. 👍👍👍👍👍

One quick question, regarding the gas, I was wondering if it would it be possible to use a smaller gas bottle for a small setup instead of that massive gas bottle you're using ? Something like the small argon gas bottles that these Mig welders use would be very convenient and more portable for occasional small jobs...
