That's why they make a shielded cable for certain.. have a conversation with a military grade construction electrician in they'll set you on the right Paris I agree completely with GRE research but at the same time.. you do not need to spend a fortune on... Cable Cable

Just curious why don't you use Chokes on your power cables this would give you a totally null feild on the power cables Iam sure a decent manufacturer like TDK magnetics would make over sized chokes and one thing Amir and your video did show is how backward and poorly designed your A/C wall outlets are no space for Mov's and fuses and it also beats me why you have two different voltages in your house wiring has no one thought of redesigning your plug top plate ??? Iam a sparky in the UK so the earth is round

Would be very grateful if someone can explain how does the power cable filter/remove the noise/intereference from the electrical network before it?
And if a power cable can do that, then why can't the amplifier do it instead?
I have always thought that this is the job of a good power supply...

Amir made a great point, if your cables require 200 hours to become able to achieve what you claim they do, and assuming you desire to put the best possible product in the hands of your customers, why not plug them in and do the "burn in" there at your warehouse? 9 days later you'll have an actually finished product to deliver.

Now let’s be reasonable folks. Just take out all your drywall and replace that pesky ROMEX. It just won’t sound as good if you don’t. While you’re at it, make sure you open the chassis on all your gear and change that wiring to all be 00 gauge and then change those piddly 3-prong sockets. Better not have any electronics in there; your capacitors probably have 18 gauge leads and that just won’t work. There’s no other way to get good sound.

How much do you know about power supplies?
Everything I have that needs a power cable has a power supply.
How does the noise and interference get through the power supply, and into the audio signal path?

I have a decent listening system (mytek Manhattan 2, benchmark amps, focal sopra 3's) this is all in a professionally sound treated room, I even had an electrician run dedicated 20 amp power cables and we he took great care to make sure it was separated from anything else in the wall. I have tried many different power and interconnect cables ranging from Pangea to audio quest to nordost....... I have had many local audiophiles come in and do blind tests and the unanimous conclusion is by a fancy cable for looks not performance. The biggest improvement came from the room treatment and speaker placement.

Electricity is noisy folks! No way around it, it just is. And! Electricity causes motion, it actually vibrates going through the Romex in your walls, creating more noise. And all of this can be transmitted to your gear. Anything we can do to diminish this FACT, is going to be good to your ears, and it is not always measurable. They put torque specs on the connections in your mains panel, and on outlets and switches for the wires, if not using stabs or lock connectors. There is a reason for this, over time these connections loosen, due to this motion, or vibration of electrical transmission. Bottom line, this stuff matters if you are in the hunt for better sound, or from keeping your house from having an electrical fire. Ethernet, it has the same issues, a good filtering switch will blow your mind in both audio and video, and you do not have to spend a fortune. Try a NetGear GS108Ev3 network switch if you stream, especially video streaming. This is a $50 switch, try it, I think you will like the improvements.

How much difference can you really get between a 200 dollar cable and a 2k dollar cable ? I had a chance to prove that the noise floor will be a bit a bit lower but to me it’s not worth the expense you can use that money to invest on the source ‘

I'm so glad that I just turn on the music on my cheap, rebuilt RCA floor speakers, and enjoy the music.
Non of this worrying about power cables and such.
Non of the arrogance that comes with buying $2,000.00 speakers.
All done through a mid-grade Marantz that was bought on sale as a closeout.
I don't fret over the fact that the new crossovers dont use all air core inductors.
As someone with an electronics degree, I totally get the whole components make a difference thing.
But in today's economy where food and utilities costs have skyrocketed, I carefully choose the priorities.

Danny you say your power cable needed 200 hours burn in. When do you know it is past it's best considering it seemed to burn in before reaching it's best? If this is the case it must have a particular lifespan due to continuous current flow causing the cable to burn in and burn out?

Further more i do not belong to the category of all the clowns reacting below. I know what cables do and what not.
I have pure copper connectors on mine. I think it sounds best because there`s no material in between.

if this is for AC power wouldn't' tit be better to plug into the outlet closest to the mains coming into the house bypassing the terrible cable that runs to other outlets? A chain is only as good as it's weakest link.

Noise in cables is irrelevant as it gets filtered out (actually removed) at the power supply in the appliance itself. IT IS THE POWER SUPPLY in the appliance THAT REMOVES ANY AND ALL ELECTRICAL NOISE. It is NOT the electrical cable that removes any of the electrical noise induced in the cable. How can it do, IT IS JUST A LONG PIECE OF COPPER WIRE. If equipment is compliant with FCC or CE EMC requirements, it has to not ACCEPT or TRANSMIT electrical interference.

@roberttaylor7462
@roberttaylor7462 - 01.09.2024 14:14

There is I suppose a hypothesis here that
1. Cables could measure differently/the same (capacitance?)
2. Cables could attract noise dependent on their construction or reject it
3. All cables could sound the same or differently dependent upon their construction or materials used

The question is how does or can the above measurably improve/maintain the output from the audio equipment which creates a true hifi presentation from the music source?

The main issue Danny has is that Amir measures whereby in terms of cables Danny is pitching a different case - primarily rejection of interference. Rejection of interference can maintain the audio signal since it could avoid distortion. But ultimately every listening room/equipment set up is not the same.

I always say flat earthers have supporters around the globe 😉
And so has the snake oil Industry.
At some time such nonsense made me sick but meanwhile i always just have to snort with laughter.
And while being some kind of atheist i thank god for not blessing me with such (expensive) stupidity anyway.
Ever messed with room acoustics, modes, treatment, loudspeaker positioning etc? And i don't mean coin sized stickers to put on things to "improve" that. Muhahahaha 🤣🤣🤣
I await the day where toasters getting upgraded with supreme power cords for a better roasting flavor. Evidence? I don't need that because it tastes better. And even power cords and interconnects for humans to provide "clearer, undistorted thinking", some kind of "pull away a curtain" thing. I mean the signal-to-noise ratio obviously is not that high within most. Needless to say it has to avoid skin effect.

what acoustic noise you cant compare with electrical noise.... what you measured is mostly random sound in your room. yes that wont line up, at least parts of it. you can do a null test. realtime for instance.

Double-blind testing. I've never seen a double-blind test showing an audible improvement for an expensive power cable. Until I see that test, I'm with Amir on this one. But I'll go with Danny on his improvements to stock Klipsch speakers. That improvement is both audible and measurable. It's like turning off the "loudness" button on an old receiver. The only audible noise I've ever had came from a ground loop. And that had nothing to do with the power cable.
