Great Review UNI! I think you gave it a fair grading.
ОтветитьGood Job !
ОтветитьThank you for the review. I found a source for them in the US where they still had pre-tariff stock in the US at $250 US. But that was last week. I waited for this part of the review before buying it, but I just checked and now they say I can still order it from China but they don't know how lomng it might take to arrive. I don't order expensive stuff with an open-ended delivery date, so I'm back to looking around. My 100 MHz Fluke portable would be kindly described as 'vintage', so it lacks many features of more modern gear, like being able to see 350 MHz.
HP gear that looked at EM spectrum but didn't quite meet HP's idea of a full-featured 'spectrum analyzer' they referred to as 'spectrum monitors'. I had one, and from my perspective as a ham radio op, I just called it a spectrum analyzer. I also had a real HP spectrum analyzer, but it was too heavy to move from my bench without help, so I often used my 'analyzer' on various projects further from my bench than a piece of coax could reach. But times have changed. Now I just use a TinySA Ultra for most things. Then an Anritsu portable SA when I need to be precise. The old HP's just sit and gather dust.
I agree with your summary as well... I still find the CH1 vs CH2 variance on my unit fairly large above 200MHz (about 15% in places - not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of). Also with the FFT and SA, and the square wave 2nd harmonics, there seems to be some internally generated harmonics which do improve (reduce) if you lower the input levels, so it seems the front-end may be overloading easily. However for the price I agree with you, it's pretty good over all! I hope we see the features improve in future firmware.
ОтветитьIn the FRA, you can use the "Frequency Count" to change the resolution of the plot, however it is still not averaging. As you said, it would be nice if they added some averaging.
ОтветитьInteresting vid, but i never get more than half way because you talk too fast and have a crapy audio/microphone.
