Secrets of Parking Sensors on Jaguar XKR X150

This video will fix the issue and show you how to ensure that the parking sensors are always active.
When I first acquired the XKR I found that I could pull right up close to a wall and the front sensors would not sound. But when I restarted the car the alarm would scream because I was so close to the wall. However the rear sensors worked perfectly when the car was in reverse.

There are 4 sensors ultrasonic sensors, 2 at the front and 2 at the rear on the bumpers.

The area range they cover goes around to the sides. the range covered to the sides (1 in the diagram) covers a distance of about half a meter or 2 foot.

The range directly in front of the car (3 in the diagram) is just under a meter or 3 foot.

The range directly to the rear (2 in the diagram) is one and half meters or 6 foot.

The warning sound comes from the front speakers when something is detected at the front and from the rear speakers when detected behind the car.

The warning sound increases as the car goes nearer to an obstacle. It will give a continuous sound when 300 mm or a foot from the obstacle.

You adjust the volume of the audible warning on the touch screen in the Vehicle settings which changes the volume on both front and rear.

The touch screen also shows a pop up screen when the sensors are activated. If you prefer the rear camera view just touch the screen anti changes from parking Aid alert to the rear camera view.
