I went to school in northern Indiana. I like Home Alone 1 more than Home Alone 2 because 1 is about Chicago whereas 2 is about NYC

The old good times at the house, there used to be no fence and you could at least experience it, today the beasts of people which visit the place have ruined it and a fence has been placed by owners...completely different from before

Home Alone was filmed in Winnetka. Winnetka IS NOT CHICAGO!!!

John Hughes, who wrote the script for Home Alone and also wrote Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and The Breakfast Club, filmed parts of them at Glenbrook North High School where my mom went to high school. The famous ending to The Breakfast Club on the football field, is my mom’s high school football field. When Ferris drives up to school and you see the outside of the auditorium, that was just newly built to Glenbrook North and my mom’s class was the first to graduate in it. :)

Fun fact, when they were filming Home Alone, they set up their production offices and the sound stage in New Trier High School. Both of my uncles, my aunt, and my grandmother went to high school there.

Thanks for making this I can’t believe that they bricked off the back of that house AND dug a hole to make those steps to nowhere. Never would imagined.

I actually think it would have been interesting to see the real interior for the exterior church shot. Sometimes it's interesting to contrast what they didn't want against what they did IMO. By the way, love the editing work!

When I first saw Home Alone, I was like, "why does this house look so familiar?" Turns out, I lived in the neighboring subdivision and I drove past the house all the time.

Does the set that they made in a gymnasium actually looks like the real house inside? I know they only used the outside of the house for the movie.

hello, i lived in Chicago before this movie was created, thought it was nice looking house and bought a small house close to my parents, just down the street of this house, ive lived around there when i was a child around the late 80s then we moved to minnesota and lived there until now i saw the house in the video and said wow! i basically lived in the same neighbourhood as a movie was taken!
