the problem is every time I start cleaning I find an old sketchbook/book and end up reading or looking through it💀

Hey kid....the reason adults don't like a dirty room in the house is really simple....it brings bugs and rodents. Kids don't realize this, and don't even think about it, and probably won't ever experience it because their parents never let it get that bad....but when you're living on your own as an adult, you'll figure it out real quick.

my room is dirty very often. i’m not home rn, i’m visiting my grandparents. we left very unexpectedly because my grandpa had to have open heart surgery so we came three weeks early. my dad and brother are home, my mom, sister and i are in florida with my grandparents. my dad made comments abt how my rooms a mess and it’s like. i get it. but i get anxiety and panic when it comes to having to clean my bedroom because it’s so messy and idk where tf to start. so im watching these types of videos in hopes that, when i go home, i will be able to properly clean up my room, organize it in the best way that i can and actually make part of my life happy !

As a mom I kinda understand why they get upset it’s more of a disappointment in themselves for not teaching you more respect, maturity, and organization with your things but I do believe most parents do overreact but it’s the least you can do when it comes to “housework” but it is your space and your things so do what you please

My mother has OCD so I completely relate to parents screaming if your room isn't clean, no compassion just aggression lol. I actually think that's related to why I'm so bad at keeping my space tidy as an adult somehow
