I'm Asian from South East Asia. Restaurants dont close for Christmas cos a lot dont celebrate Christmas.

Depending which race or religion, they only close if they celebrate the festival. Chinese for Chinese New Year, Malays/Muslims for El Adha, Hindus for Deepavali, Christians for Christmas.

Even then, some Chinese restaurants open on 1st & 2 day of CNY. These are public holidays. Then they will close for 1 week after CNY.

Or they just close on 1st day of CNY, open 2nd day. Open 300 days a year(rest 1 day a week)

So true. Every year people at work scramble to try and get Thanksgiving and Christmas off. I didn’t grow up with the concept of Thanksgiving so I’m always raising my hand to stay at work (aren’t we supposed to be thankful everyday anyway?). I accumulate vacation days and what do I do with them? I use a month’s worth of vacation days in the summer to go back to Japan. 😂 Seriosuly, the healthcare system in the US is horrific though……
