Nothing special about getting a win over Ruud, so many lesser players have . And absolutely not a thing special about Garin. This is very much the "Weak generation" of tennis .

Is Ruud even a top 8 player? He’s never won a tournament outside 250’s and the two finals of GS that he made he never played anyone in the top 10 on his way to those two finals. Literally the only reason he was ranked 2 was due to those two finals and accumulation of smaller tournament wins. Lets see where he ends up at the end of the year

At the beginning of the year I told my friend that Ruud in not freaking way will defend his points from last year and will be out of top 10 easy! Even maybe out of top-20.Especially at GS, at RG I give him chances to get to ¼ and I'm begging that "destiny" will put Rublev against him , cause from top 10, the all match base line hitter will suit to Andrey's game like nobody else, and if it would happen, Andrey has a great chance to win & finally to break through this ¼ final barrier and maybe win his first Major! And at US. Ruud maybe will make it to the 4th round but not more. That's only my thoughts so pls Ruud fans if you aren't having it, just don't argue. The time will tell am I right or wrong.

really impressed with garin's volleying. by far the best of the young players. it's become a lost art, but garin stabs and punches his volleys with authority where a lot of players these days just pop it up, esp. on low ones giving the opponent time to run it down.

This is his how tennis should be played . Dynamic and aggressive not these baseline forever rallies! Few players like Garin out there !

This doesn’t surprise me too much. I saw Garin win his first ATP title against Ruud in Houston in 2019 before both of these players took off. They were so evenly matched and it definitely felt like they could be rivals going forward, but Ruud has had more success following that match than Garin. Garin is still a fantastic player though and hope to see more good things from him this year!!

Casper is a good player, but to say he could win a M1000 or GS it would def. a big NO. He don't got what it takes to become a great champ.

Not here to hate on Ruud, phenomenal person and player. But on hard courts he doesn’t have the power or weapons to bother the top guys. Garin is good for an upset every now and then like today, but wildly inconsistent.

If Ruud ever wins a Slam, that must be against some other pusher too in the finals that went on a 5 setter and only becomes dramatic because none of them both able to finish off the rally

Ruud is a decent player but he has IMO only two weapons and that's the extreme topspin on his forehand and his mentality. His fh now seems to have flattened out and his confidence has sunk to a low. If you lose your weapons in the male circuit, you can quickly drop out of even the top 100. I like him a lot on court and off court, so I hope he gains them back.
