With the amount of new technology on this tank, one must pray to the Omnissiah for it to all work!

I was curious as to what model 12.7mm coaxial machine gun the KF51 sports so I went on Rheinmetall's website and sure enough, they don't say it but in the schematic it looks like John Brownings M2, probably with a quick change barrel. Good God that M2 just keeps soldiering on!

Fitting that you offer praise to the Machine Spirit while purveying information on a new tank design. Praise to the Omnissiah.

Here's a possible advantage of an unmanned turret which came to my mind while you mentioned the countermeasure system which is supposed to be able to shoot the enemy while they are still aiming:
If you want to be able to react that fast to this, you need to be fast. Let's just say that from aiming to shooting you have a time frame of 3 seconds (and I think that this is quite generous).
In that time frame you need to: notice, deploy smoke, turn the turret, aim and shoot.
It's likely that the enemy is not already pretty much in front of your gun, so as an example let's say the enemy is 90° (or a quarter turn) to one side (e.g. because you are currently shooting a different enemy).
Now, if all the stuff which needs to be done can be fully automated (scary thought if you think about it), the equipment can move the slowest (after all, if you need to wait for human input, that's going to take the longest amount of time).
Let's just say for a second that everything besides turning the turret can be done instantly.
So, you need to turn 30°/s to be fast enough.
If we don't have a loader (these are normally standing in the tank while loading), you have now 2 people (commander and gunner) who are pretty much thrown around. If they use seatbelts not too bad (hopefully), but if they don't, they could very well fall of their seats. And even with seatbelts, they can very easily hurt themselves on something else from such a sudden and fast movement.
Imagine you are on one of these carousels you see on children playgrounds. You aren't in the middle of it and with the seat back likely towards the centre (meaning: it will not help you).

What about the MGCS was launched in 2017 by French President Emmanuel Macron and then-German Chancellor Angela Merkel. A few days ago, the French and German land army chiefs signed a so-called High Level Common Operational Requirements Document (HLCORD) — a key step before an actual specification for the main battle tank. How does Rheinmetall and their KF51 fit in this puzzle? Is the French-German collaboration for yet another tank design?

It needs to have 4 drones and loiter drones as well as some hard core shot gun to shoot drones away. These tanks need more defence besides armour. Something that can take out drones or even a missile itself before it hits the tank. If anything needs more improvements and defence its the tank as a whole. They are still good but they are nothing what they use to be because of so many other cheap and easy weapons and take em out.

It will become viable for germany after the project with france will inevitably fail. Just like the prior project with france that resulted in failure (followed by seperate amx30/leopard1) and the prior project with the usa (mbt70) that resulted in failure (followed by seperate abrams and leopard2).

the loitering drones are awesome but make more sense, imo, on IFVs. A quad loaded launcher is very cool but taking away main gun ammunition is a huge trade off. external mounts seem more sensible. javelin missiles alone also seem like a no brainer to be mounted, on IFVs especially again. a remote control large caliber cannon makes more sense as a secondary for tanks.

The reason why these tanks are only being developed now, and not being purchased, is because Russian and Chinese armor doesn't even stand up to today's Western stuff.

Germany designs and builds this military equipment. Yet, they preferer to sell and export them to other countries . Therefor, they themselves do not fill up there armories and bases with many of this military equipment. They are utterly low in inventory in military hardware. I suppose they expect the U.S. To field their own military equipment and money for Germany and Europe's defiance. this strategy allows Germany and other Euboean countries to maintain a higher standard of living than many U.S, citizens.

Instead, big cats are protected, and less existing on Earth, so psychologically, one feal sorry to shoot at them (speaking as a hunter)... Since the time after the Second World War, the Russians began to show weapons that look cool, but in fact are not capable of anything. The first jet fighters flew in parades with 30 mm guns, which were actually dummies. The IS-3 tanks were so unsuccessful that the frontal armor tore under its weight along the weld seam. But they made this crap by the hundreds (planes) and thousands (tanks), just for show. I can't believe that at the end of 2023, someone is seriously talking about the Armata tank, as if it exists as it was presented and that it even has cutting-edge technology, which is not on any tank in service with NATO armies. I'll just remind you that they showed the tank at the parade in 2015, 8 years ago, and wanted to produce 2300 tanks of the T14 Armata by 2020. But about 30 test samples are being manufactured, and Moscow explains this by the fact that they are too expensive, although according to various data, one Armata tank should have cost from 5 to 8.5 million dollars, and the T90 costs from 5 to 7.

I don't know I disagree that a unmanned turret is a bad idea, first off it allows you to shrink the size of the turret overall since you'd no longer need room of the squishy humans and thus would only necessitate armoring the vital areas to allow the turret to operate, likewise you could feasibly transfer and localize that armored protection and weight you shed from the turret around the crew compartment in the hull, effectively making it like a citadel on battleships or for a more contemporary example like the A-10's titanium bathtub.

This could result in a more effectively protected crew give that they will all be in a singular location and likewise would result in a less top heavy tank given that its center of gravity would be closer to the ground and would lessen the chance of a roll over on uneven terrain from say a mine detonation, also since the protection of the crew and size requirements for the loader and commander are no longer required and since you mentioned attacks from top down munitions you could likewise reinforce the top of the turret instead and since it would be smaller to that would less area that would also need to be armored.

It may also be possible to now add a semi V hull specifically under the crew compartment to deflect mine blasts, as well as the armored bathtub for the crew, it will still more than likely disable the tank and likely tears its treads to pieces, but those can be replaced and the tank any even still be able to function as a fixed gun, should the crew still be alive and the rest of the tanks still be in working order if the situation calls for it, at least until the tank can be retrieved for repairs.

Suffice to say I think the concept has merit to it even if it is not immediately obvious to the layman and should be looked into further as well, but that is just my two cents on the matter.
