I went through a lot to make this video. Please like and subscribe lmao
ОтветитьDepends on the project, bet definitely has its place. Just ask Zack Snyder ;) I do like 2.4:1 a lot, but for some Videos, 4:3 is a great choice.
ОтветитьShooting vertical anamorphic with something like a aivascope on 16:9 can easily get the 4:3 while having some of those anamorphic characters, plus you get more usable image.
Ответитьthis is dope
ОтветитьOne of my favourite films of the last few years is a South African film, Moffie. And that was filmed in 4:3. I guess it reflects the time period, being set in the late 80s, but I also really enjoyed how things sat in the frame, my brain likes it when things are full just the right amount. 4:3 makes you think a little harder about what's in your frame and you have to be more conservative to keep things uncluttered. On the upside though, if you want a cluttered frame, you can achieve that with way less.
Ответитьmaking more and more sense in the age of smartphones
ОтветитьMan I'm a fan of 4:3 too, not because of the old tv shows but the imax with laser
ОтветитьHow do u set to 4:3 on davinci?
ОтветитьWhen it comes to gaming, old games just look better here when you do your videos of them on 4:3, instead of pillarboxing the footage to a 16:9 frame.
ОтветитьIt looks so good on iPad Pro
Ответитьbro u poser so much 4:3 and shitty film style doesn't make ur videos "cinematic"
ОтветитьI LOVE the 4:3 aspect ratio and was thinking to "upgrade" to it,
JUST BECAUSE the composition is so much better than 16:9!
I mean, it is perfect for portrait videos or films that focus on characters.
It has enough side information and plenty vertical useful visuals!
I mean, it was probably the best format for FILM.
Yes, some people will say things like: "Our eyes or field of view is more like 16:9 or 21:9"
and I would reply: "I DO NOT CARE! I want to WATCH a FILM, not view reality!". . .
Make video filmed With phone phone please
Ответить4:3 content is perfect on my inner screen on my Fold4. Maybe it'll make a comeback if foldable phones hit the mainstream. Kinda like how 18:9 got popular when phone screens stopped being 16:9
ОтветитьWhat camera and lens did you use while filming the intro bro😭 (ıts the best intro ıve ever seen lol)
ОтветитьIt's so amazing to see a filmmaker shoot in a 4:3 aspect ratio. That format is insultingly underappreciated. It's very nostalgic too! In my opinion 4:3 should be the standard for TV shows whereas the 16:9 ratio should be reserved for movies.
ОтветитьYou are the fucking goat at this shit. Hands down
ОтветитьThis aspect ratio fills my Galaxy Fold 4 screen perfectly in full screen!
ОтветитьI watch videos on a CRT. I serched "4:3 content" and this video came up. I will sit back wit ha drink and enjoy
ОтветитьI can barely hear you. You speak all soft toned and low. Use some compression and turn it up.
ОтветитьAwesome tips bro!
ОтветитьIt’s full when you watch on iPad. No black bars!
ОтветитьI think the most important part of this idea is that if you put yourself in some kind of limits - it will bring more creativity.
It brings more ideas on how to compose the shot and helps spend more time thinking about it.
The same stuff happened when people was able to shot 16x9 after decades of 4x3 and the same when people stated to use black bars to convert consumer video from 16x9 to 21x9.
The amount of dedication and appreciation of composition - is what matter the Most.
Same thing if you dedicate a day (or a WEEK!) showing only 35mm lens on a s35 format camera - I mean normal lens. And the same for 24mm on a s35. and 70mm on an s35. When you restict yourself you can find 10 time more creative ideas than if you have every possible lens and aspect ratio etc etc.
Also I've found extremely useful to use analog film camera and limit yourself on 24/36 frames to tell a story through photographic pictures. Or may be 10-12 on a medium format camera. If you know that you have only few shots and that's it - you will spend x10 times (or x100) on composing and deciding - do you really need that shot? And when you came back to digital domain (photo or video - doesn't matter) - it will help you dedicate more time on thinking - whether this shot is worth wasting your time. its "sharpening an axe" concept for a vision.
And I heard a lot of great DP and pro photographs and think the same myself - that no amount of experience will make composing any easier - its always kinda "as first time" process. If it's not - it might be bad for creative vision. If Rodger Dickens said the same - I think it should be somehow true for everyone =)
BTW your cinematography is astonishing! WOW
That's epic mate!
ОтветитьI love the color grading sm😭
ОтветитьThinking of doing a video podcast in this aspect ratio. Comments will look cleaner, as well as framing and layout. I’ll come back to this to let you know if it worked 🤞
ОтветитьHow can I
Ответить🙄 "screen 16:9 just for patty..."🤰
ОтветитьNuevo subscriptor
Ответитьeverything perfect... the aspect ratio format and nice color of your videos
ОтветитьThanks for the info and the smoothness!!😊
ОтветитьI don't even record, but everytime I watch your videos? man!. It just pushes me to want to get my hands dirty and see if i can recreate some of the things you do. Good stuff bro.
ОтветитьMy bro need a video about your colorgrading 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😢
Ответитьthank youuuuuu
Ответить4:3, the classy aspect ratio.
ОтветитьGJ
ОтветитьSade albums Fyahhh
ОтветитьYou have really nice videos. Calm and well made. Appreciate all your film insights. Keep it up!
ОтветитьYou might be on to something with 4:3 making a comeback. Lemon8 launched in the US not too long ago and they upload in 4:3..... 🤔
Ответитьhow can I set up for 4:3 In Post ?
ОтветитьAbsolutely killed this video homie!
ОтветитьPlease do breakdown videossss
ОтветитьYou know… that is refreshing. I felt closer, it was bigger and had headroom in a way
ОтветитьI think we only see 4x3 as nostalgic because of CRT-based tv sets. But it’s all around us, on iPads (how I’m watching), on micro four thirds cameras and a lot of paper notebooks seem to use close to 4x3. But I don’t think it suits everything. I wouldn’t want to watch Star Wars on 4x3.
ОтветитьThat intro was clean dude, love it
